"Of Betrothal's and Biobeds"

"Of Betrothal's and Biobeds"

A Warped to the core Productions

<<start log>>

Trichon leaned back on the biobed and sighed. When Andrea got back it was going to be time for a whole battery of tests on him. He rolled over on his side and gazed at the woman he loved. He saw a look of concern on Merris face. "Are you okay beloved?"

Merri was worried. "I'm fine," she pointed out. "But I'm worried about you. Is there any way to know what will fix all these problems you're having?"

He shrugged, "We dont even really know what the problem is yet, but I trust Andrea. She's good at what she does. Were going to get through this I promise."

Frowning, Merri looked him over both with her eyes and with her mind through their bond. "I suppose," she said slowly, "that the only reason I'm not going to pieces completely is because of all the extra studying and training I've been doing."

He sat up on the edge of the bed and looked at her, "Extra training. You didnt tell me you were going more training."

She blushed. "I had to. Once we bonded, it seemed like what little telepathy I had suddenly multiplied. If I didn't get more training, I would never be able to block it all out in order to function."

Trichon raised his brow, "I didnt think my telepathy was enough that it would increase yours." he sighed, "Heck I dont even know what my own limits are."

"I don't know." She shrugged. "Maybe it was just the fact of being bonded that did it?"

"Could be," he stopped for a moment and scratched his chin, "but lets move on to other things."

Merri took Trichon's hand in hers, rubbing her thumb over his. "What kind of other things?" she asked.

He squeezed her hand and grinned, "You said yes."

She laughed. "I did, didn't I?"

"You sure did," He slid off the end of the bed and whispered in her ear, "Merri Light, kinda has a ring dosent it?"

"A ring?" she teased, waving the one he'd given her in front of his face. "Better get back on that bed, dearest, before the doctors come back." But she kissed him first.

He stuck his tounge out at her and hopped back up on the bed, "You know what this means right?"

"That we'll qualify for married personnel quarters?" Merri asked in mock-innocence.

"You read my mind." he laughed, "Means lots of changes. First and foremost one of us is going to have to switch deparments."

"Well, you can't," she pointed out. "You're the Chief. I suppose I'll go wherever they want me, as long as it's on the same ship with you."

He nodded, "I'm sure you'll find something. Now we just have to decide if we want to acutally announce it or let the rumor mill do the work."

Merri nodded back. "I think we should tell our superiors at least. There, I've told you... now you can tell Commander Dacotah." She grinned mischievously.

"Why do I have to tell the commander," he said teasingly, "Maybe we should start with Andrea when she comes back in. That way maybe she'll go easier on me with these tests."

Merri thought that might not be a bad idea, although she didn't think it would make a difference as far as the tests. She nodded again. "Let's tell her, for starters," she agreed
