"Event Horizon"

Starfleet Academy

Three Weeks Prior to Graduation

San Francisco Earth

::The Bolian smiled at Counselor A`rrat::

So What have I done today? Not happy with my Marathon performance?

::The Tellarite grinned::   Well, you didn't win Cadet Mitar Precip.

Never are satisfied are you...::The Bolian glances at the Tellarite "Career" Counselor then at the beautiful sky over the academy grounds::  So..you usually don't play courtesy calls..3  weeks before a cadet graduates.

::A`rrat snickered:: No I don't. The Royal Star had to have been a challenging situation? No?

::The Flashback hit instantly...How can one forget the smell of burning flesh aboard a training vessel  or any vessel for that matter?  His captain/instructor lay dead on the floor of the bridge of the Old Miranda Class Vessel, from a direct hit from a Ferengi Marauder Captain..who it turns out just wanted an antimatter Pod. Jeesh..The Bolian himself and two other cadets hastily reacted to the attack taking charge of the charred bridge until the cavalry arrived...the USS Holy Grail...15 lives for an antimatter Pod...::looks back at his Counselor:: Yes it was. Not a situation I'd like to see happen again.

::The Counselor replied:: As regrettable as it was to see your Starship Training instructor and several fellow Cadets perish, it did  provide you with something the other Cadets in this academy don't have...experience. And there are vessels out there that need new officers who have just that. Who can take on challenges like you do...either a Marathon  or scenario like the Royal Star.  I want you to promise me you keep all options open when your assignment comes in after graduation.

::Mitar looked down at the shorter Tellarite.:: Jeesh A`rrat  isn't that a recruitment speech for the academy? A little late isn't it?

::The Tellarite began to walk away smiling::... Just keep that thought in that blue head of yours!

::Upon turning around A`rrat thought to himself....far from being late recruiting for what I had in mind my Bolian friend....

To Be Continued..
