"A mind is a terrible thing to waste" Pt 2

A mind is a terrible thing to Waste Pt 2

A Joint log from Warped to the Core Productions.

Trichon was still trying to get a grasp on what had just happened to him. The last thing he remembered was being injected with something before he passed out. His head was swimming with the massive influx of memories that had come rushing back to him. What was the phrase a friend once told him, 'everything old is new again'. That's exactly what had happened to him. Memories of the first 18 years of his life had disappeared in a flash. The lies had been revealed and the truth was revealed to him. His mind was still trying to piece together the information. He reached his mind out to reach for someone familiar.

Merri was almost completely asleep, plain old worn out from exhaustion and stress. She felt the touch of Trichon's mind in hers, and welcomed him, twining tendrils of emotion to blend with his presence.

Trichon grazed across her mind trying to help wake her. "Can you hear me beloved."

~~Dearest...~~ She greeted him, just in the process of waking up. Something was different. She didn't know what, but it was something that had shaken Trichon to the core. Suddenly, Merri was completely awake. ~~What's wrong?~~

~~I've had...~~ he paused and tried to think of the words to say, ~~A moment of clarity.~~

Merri reached wordlessly, encouraging him to share it. They didn't need words between them.

Trichon decided the best way was to fully open his mind to her. The emotions from the years of memories swept through his mind and washed over him.

As the influx of emotions and memories struck her, Merri slumped back in the big chair. There was nothing she could do but let everything flood through her, and try to relax while it did. Her mind would make sense of it later, bit by bit.

~~I myself am still trying to sort through what's happened.~~ He shook his head still trying to shake the cobwebs out.

~~We will sort it out together,~~ Merri promised. Whatever happened, they were mates, and would always be together.

He embraced her mentally, ~~At the moment I have more pressing issues to attend to. I am still in prison although Dak and the commander are working on that.~~

She nodded, though he couldn't see her, and swallowed hard. ~~Let me know if you need a daring rescue,~~ she offered. ~~After all, I do have the keys to your shuttle.~~

~~You have more than the keys to my shuttle my dearest. I will let you know if I need help.~~ he narrowed his eyes at the ambassador. ~~But for now I have other things to attend to.~~

~~Let me know if they are holding you without communications,~~ she reminded him, with a sweet mental hug.

He embraced her mind, ~~Dont worry I think things have taken a turn for the better. What's that old earth song..... 'I was blind but now I see'~~

~~I don't know it, love...~~ Merri yawned, looking at the time. She'd slept all of half an hour. ~~But I am here for you, always.~~

~~I know. Don't worry my love I will see you soon.~~
