ShoreLeave West - 2005

It's that time again, folks. It's time for STSF's *UNOFFICIAL and UNSPONSORED* gathering in Real Life (i.e., away from our keyboards) in Las Vegas!! We will be gathering around the LV Hilton (we hope, still have some hotel issues to iron out) for the weekend of June 10-12, 2005. For now, I just wanted to let everyone know where and when and start a conversation going here.

 

Remember that this is a gathering for Adults only (there is no supervision to be had for miles around) and it is not an event that is officially sponsored by STSF. Having said that, it's the one time each year where we all do our best to try and show up, at the same place, at the same time, to actually put faces to the mysterious and weird people we sim and chat with. It's great fun, just bring your cash (it IS Vegas, after all) and leave your self-respect at home!

Angie and I want to go, but probably won't be able to make it. I'm traveling cross country in two weeks to visit her, then she's traveling to visit me here in May. Then, I'm going back up there again in July. So, money's gonna be reaaaaal tight this summer. We will be there in spirit though, so have fun. Maybe we can make it next year. <_<

I've booked my flight, I've tentatively reserved a room, I left my self respect behind a LONG time ago.

 

My schedule: Sleep til 9 or 10, float in the pool drinking coffee til 1, meander to wherever other nerds might be between 2 and 4, eat and drink a path across the city at night, kiss off around 1.

 

Man, this makes working worth it.

Well, the convention ShoreLeave still runs. But as for "ShoreLeave East" -- I know it happened the same year as the introduction of "ShoreLeave West", but I don't know if any sizable group from STSF still meets there. Anyone? Bueller?
