Travis Kroells

In the nick of time part 3

In the nick of time part 3...Kroells’s logs

Travis opened his eyes to find him self back in that wreck of an engineering.  He had managed to stop the memories, and the bad emotions that came with them to fully surface.  He slowly looked around at his settings.  Nothing had changed from before and no one had come looking for him.  Not like he expected it though.  In his mind he had alienated him self from the crew so much that they would most likely let him die up here by himself then come and get him.  He slowly got up and started to look around again.  Nothing as planed.  He slowly looked around once again.  His white glove slowly moved down to a tiny pocket on his suit used most likely to hold computer chips or other things of that nature.  He slowly put his finger in the pocket and slowly retrieve his contents inside of it.  He drew out a think gold ring, most likely a wedding band.  He slowly turned it to examine the inside of the band.  He quietly read the text of it, “All my love Kayla.”  Travis slowly put the wedding ring back in the suit.  He slowly headed back to the ladder intending to report to Lt. McLean on his status on the search.  He slowly headed to the ladder.  He had never really found a way to cope with the loss that had he had to deal with in the academy.  They same time heals all wounds.  But that’s not true, only death does.  Either you head to a better place when you die and forget all your sorrows, or you die and go to a place worse then this cold unforgiving universe and have so many new problems that you forget about the petty issues of this form of life.  Travis really didn’t care which one he ended up with.  He was to the point that he would take the first one that presented its self to him.
