Computer Begin log:

 

The shuttles appear to indeed be ready for whatever lies below on Proxima Centauri and whatever is left of the Lincoln Outpost.

They performed flawlessly in several test manuevers, along with the phaserbanks. Flying with Commanders Braden and Roget was the most fun I have had on Manticore. I doubt what lies below us has anything fun about it at all.

 

I don't recall the Lincoln Outpost mentioned in the Academy..and when I mentioned that to CommanderRoget I have to admit I was somewhat embarrassed. I am far more up to date now...well I believe so...::pauses::

 

Sometimes I still feel like a new ensign on Manticore, perhaps that is a mistatement.  Today in the shuttles I felt part of a family having fun ..yet other days, I am a subordinate on the foodchain just patroling decks.  It is frustrating not knowing what all is going on this ship, and sometimes I feel the senior staff is too tight lipped on what is going on ..what we are doing. Off course this isn't an ordinary starship right...Manticore..the Great Tug!! ::chuckles::

 

Yet I guess I must realize I will be forever out of the loop on issues, such as Command and Intel. This ship has so many secrets...I have to wonder if any of the other newcomers to Manticore feel the same way...the opinion of tension between the command staff at times, all the treaties this vessel violates..and I don't dare officially go on record with that! How can newcomers adapt to serving on a Federation Ship with a cloaking device ...snooping around like we have.  I'll have to talk to my fellow newcomers and see if they share the same opinions on the Mysteries of the Manticore.

Looks like another mysterious Manitcore mission looms below on Proxima Centauri's surface...why send another Starship 10 years later...with our CO having been on the original one...Well..Commander Roget..looks like I may be seeing history firsthand on the surface. Hopefully we won't become history ourselves here.
