STARFLEET CAREER SUMMERY

 

September 2389: After opting to become an enlisted officer, JP graduates Starfleet Acadamy with a rank of Crewman 3rd Class and is assigned to Utopia Shipyard orbiting Earth.

 

December 2389: After only a one month engagement, marries Li Jia Qi.

 

May 2390: Transfers with his wife Jia Qi to Starbase Alpha Prime.

 

July 2391: Earns a promotion to Crewman 2nd Class.

 

February 2392: Suffers extensive injuries and the loss of his wife following a sabotage attack. (See Attached 1)

 

May 2392: Is released from Starfleet Medical with the grafting of a cybernetic arm. (See Attached 2)

 

June 2392: Resigns from Starfleet after charges are dropped against Colonal Malg.

 

April 2394: Returns to Starfleet by enlisting in the Tactical/Security Operations program at Starfleet Security in Annapolis.

 

January 2396: Successfully completes the program and is given the provisional rank of Midshipman. Is later assigned as a Security Officer aboard the USS Galahad.

 

March 2397: Completes his provision period as Midshipman. Is transfered to Tactical/Security Officer on the USS Agincourt with a promotion to Ensign.

 

May 2397: Earns a Promotion to Lieutenant (Junior Grade) in response for his valour on Pax Primus.

 

ATTACHED 1: Starbase Alpha Prime Terrorist Attack

 

On stardate 29218.13, Starbase Alpha Prime was subject to a terrorist attack that killed 149 people. According to base security, an unmanned freighter fired and destroyed the station's tractor beam and attempted to ram into the station. The Starbase's phasers were able to destroy the ship but a very large portion ended up crashing into the the habitation ring.

 

According to his testimony, JP Marks was on his way to duty when the portion hit. He had just stepped into the TL when he heard the explosion and screams. The survellence recording showed Marks hurrying through the wreckage, attempting to find his wife and save fellow crewman and civilians. Unfortunantely, JP's efforts were useless as his wife was crushed to death under much of the wreckage. Hysterical and frightened, Marks worked fevishly to dig her out but ended up getting crushed himself.

 

Starfleet inquiry's found traces of a Klingon control system on the freighter and an official investigation was led on the system's remote control. Several pieces of evidence led to a Klingon Colonal named Malg. During the official hearing*, the evidence was found to be lacking and Malg was let free. This decision especially angered JP Marks who continues to blame Malg for the death of his wife.

ATTACHED 2: JP Marks Medical Summery; Dr. Peter Westbrook.

 

Mr. Marks suffered several injuries follorwing the attack on Starbase Alpha Prime, many of which were superficial enough to be repaired without serious damage. However, extreme ligament and tissue damage in his right arm has led to the fitting of a cybernetic arm based on the design by Commander David Maddox. (Refer to Maddox/Data research 2368-current) The arm runs on an artifical power source located behind the right shoulder blade which also acts as "the nerve center," allowing feeling, pain, cold, and the such to be transmitted to the brain. Official specs shows his arm to posses a 42% decrease in feeling and reception but a 33% increase in physical strength, both of which are well within Starfleet

Perameters.

 

HOBBIES

 

JP enjoys practicing his hand-to-hand combat, ranging from Boxing to Judo, mainly using techniques employed by the Starfleet Security program. JP is also a big fan of the Ancient West, treasuring the Suspension Case passed down through his family. JP's other hobbies include playing the Piano, reading literature by late 20th century authors Tom Clancy and Douglas Adams, Klingon Opera, and recently, Botany; Most notably the keeping of his Bonzai Plant.
