"Kerplunk" - 50303.09

Dr. Garnoopy

Personal Log Stardate 50303.09

“Kerplunk”

Garnoopy splashed into the water, instantly getting soaked through. The pole in his hand was of no use, and neither was the laser scalpel in the other hand. And all of those wonderful layers of clothing were now only dragging him down, attempting to see if he’d sink.

Sputtering for air, Garnoopy immediately remembered training, get rid of those bloody articles of clothing that weigh you down. So, the boots were kicked off, sinking rapidly downards, to depths unknown.

About to drop the pole and laser scalpel, to attempt to get rid of the heavy jacket, Garnoopy suddenly felt something slick underneath of him. Some sort of large animal, whale size, was pushing him upwards!

Without warning, he found himself on the ice, his head whipped around, and the creature disappeared underwater. Strange he had no been eaten, perhaps the boots had filled the large animals stomach.

He stood, and felt the chill wind whip around him. Somehow, the pole and laser scalpel had survived and he still had them, and upon closer inspection, he realized he had a fishing pole! Someone on the ship must have lost it, he’d find out when he got back to the ship.

After a brief chat with the HoD and Rawl’, the ship was contacted, and Garnoopy felt the familiar energizing of the transporter beam, and he smiled, feeling cold, and thinking it was time for a mug of hot chocolate.
