Personally, I'm glad that Lucas put in Chewie. After they killed the character off a few years ago, I was afraid that they would only be able to use him in 'Empire,' 'Tales' and a few other stories, but now we'll be able to see him in 'Republic" (that is if they continue with the series). Another thing is that I finally have closure about Kit Fisto. He's definetly one of the most intriging Jedi I've seen, and I've been woried that he would have a meaningless death. Now it seems that he'll go down fighting with Mace Windo (and possibly Ki-Adi Mundi). I was definetly not expecting some of those fight sceens. Now we knew Obi Wan and Annie would fight (via Insider and common sense). I also figured Palpatine and Mace would go one-on-one, but now it seems Palpatine will take a few more Jedi at the same time. As for Yoda and Palpatine, that is going to be one of the best fight sceens in the trilogy. I was disappointed in not seeing Grievious (I may have missed a bit so he might have been in the trailer), as his kind is rarely utalized in science fiction (and when it is, it is usually poorly done). Sadly, during parts where they were showing some of the land machines, my mind kept on telling me which ones are which, which games I've seen them in, and they're special abilities. The Invasion of Coruscant is beautifully coreographed, and I this will definetly out-do Ep I (Annie taking on the Trade Federation), but I'm iffy about if it'll be better then Jedi's (who am I kidding, this is going to be much better!)(no offence Lando) I was hoping to see Alpha and the gang come to the big screen, but I think that they're all going to get killed off in 'Obsession.'

Man, it feels great to act like a know-it-all.

The Star Wars triva makes up for my lack of knowledge of DS9 and VOY (although I did finally see a complete Voyager show a few weeks back, so I guess I've accomplished something)

Of course Chewie was gonna be in the movie. You can't have some epic battle on Kashyyyk without your favorite Wookie in the throngs. :P

That and I saw him in the teaser trailer as well with a much larger wookie (The wookie's name leaves me at the moment), but yes Chewie is back and it will be great. :)

Some interesting old school characters are also gonna be thrown into Episode III, with the most noticable one being Mon Mothma, which is cool, doesn't surprise me that they're gonna throw her in for those of geeks who actually know who she is. ;) Kudos though.

Anywho, my remarks still stand; I liked the trailer, and thought it was cool. Can't wait to see Mustafar and Utapau...

::Starts to feel like a Star Wars know it all since he actually knew the name of those planets, and decides it would be best if he just ran into a cave and went to hiding:: :(

EDIT: Ha! I found the larger wookie's name, it's Tarfful. He's the wookie with those streaks of grey in his fur in the teaser trailer. And now you learn something new... :D ::Continues hiding::

You know, of all the places in the world, I always wanted to see Koriban. I dont like how they showed it on KOTOR. Then again, my definition and how evil looks to me would be different.

I didn't realize Koriban was supposed to be "on this world" lol....J/K

I saw the trailer this weekend and I liked what I saw. Maybe it's the seriousness/darkness of the third movie that captivated my attention (I generally don't enjoy a lot of Lucas humor). Whatever it is...if it turns out to be a good product, in my opinion, it would be the first of the new generation of Star Wars films.

My two cents...

:( I just saw the Hitchhiker Trailer. I'm trading my jedi cloak for a bath robe, my lightsaber for a towel, my commlink for a guide, and C-3PO for Marvin. (the last one didn't really matter. Marvin was much more succesful when it came to music. Christmas in the Stars?! That was voted one of the worst Christmas albums of all time. And it had Bon Jovi in it. Mavin's gloom and doom is much better then "Bells, Bells, Bells.")

Sounds good to me. By the way, it's called a "dressing gown" in Britain.

The neat thing watching Lucas on 60 Minutes, was that he admitted that it couldn't get worse than the previous 2, and groaned. I think it's obvious, the he knows Peter Jackson raised the bar considerably with LOTR.

What was heartening to hear, was that he acknowledged that this is a darker movie, and will most likely be rated PG-13. He noted that he could pull it back some, but that he had done that previously, and look what he got (the previous 2 movies). There's hope for this one yet.

::hard to believe it's been almost 30 years in the making getting this story finished:: Remembers going as a teenager in the '70's to see Episode IV.

I wish he hadn't pulled back for for Episode II. It would have been so much better if it were a matureer...(is that a word) movie. It would have been so much better if it we'ren't diluted for the kiddies, who hated it anyway because Jar Jar was bearly in it.

Anakin's mom dying, war breaking out, limbs being sliced off, Anakin beginning his slide to the Dark Side - yup, Episode II could have been a MUCH darker - and better - story with these plot elements than it was.

I mean compare Attack with Empire. Look at how bashed and bruised - physicaly and emotionally - Luke was after his first fight with Vader. Then look at Anakin's fight with Dooku. Sure he got his arm cut off but other than that he didn't even muss up his hair!

That was one of the major disappointments that I had with the movie. There was even a pretty large betting pool going around the school about when he would die.

I have a few problems with that. One, the importance of the fights were different. Attack's point was to keep Dooku from escaping. Empire's battle had the fate of the galaxy on the line. Second, Anakin's dad isn't Dooku (as far as we know), so it wouldn't be as emotional as Luke's. But, Luke can control his emotions, so Anakin's was more emotional. ;) Still, I understand that Empire was emotional for the viewers (along with shocking). The battle's outcome still had an effect on Anakin, one that would lead him down the road of darkness....

Anakin's dad won't be revealed....... well not in the movies...... so we know dooku isn't his father.

Frankly, I don't fully belive his mom. I've done alot of plot prediction, and just because a character says something doesn't mean it's true (or that they don't know the truth). So, it is a possibility that Dooku could be his dad, it is a possiblity that Qui-Gon could be his dad, and it is a possibility that the force could be his dad. (although I doubt it would be Jar Jar)

I thought II was an okay movie. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, either. I am really looking forward to III. Lucas had better not let me down.

Well, what do you expect? Star Wars is basicly a movie designed to appeal to kids. You don't really expect Shmi to come right out and say "Oh, I don't remember who his father was. It could be George or Fred or Bill or Scott or..."

Actually, if you look VERY closely to some of the ornaments in Shmi's hut they are the same as those found in Palpatine's office. Is Palpatine Anakin's father? I doubt it. Too predictable. But it is probably something Lucas threw in to keep us guessing.

I just downloaded and watched the trailer. It looks like it's going to be the best of the three prequils. I am also going to see Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. About Anakin's dad, I have a friend who writes Star Wars fan fiction (dozens of short story's and two novels, mostly dealing with Moff Tarkin). But, she conjectured many years ago that Palpatine was Anakin's father. She came to the conclusioon because of the relationship between Vader and Emporer Palpatine, even though Palpatine calls him "my friend". Looking at the trailer for Episode 3 reminded me of it. Palpatine takes a great interest in Anakin, even making him his assistant and aid. Also, Palpatine shows in the trailer that he can weild a light sabre (possibly past Jedi Knight). Don't know, gonna have to wait till I see the movie May 19th. ::drops his two cents into the box::

Zaphod,

"I purr, therefore I am."

I stick to the movies and that Anakin's Mom got pregenant from the Force (I can't help but chuckle over this, you soooo know that Lucas did that one on purpose...)

I could blab on about this, but I don't want to kick up any dust and get in trouble. ;)
