Canadian Road trip

54 posts in this topic

Alright, for all those who live in Canada, I'm taking a road trip up your way for some back-country boarding. But I'd like to know what you think is the most important thing that I should see.

Thanks.

Which provinces are planning on going to? If you're going to NF, I suggest Marble Mountain you probably know it but It's an awesome hill hard to get to in the winter but none the less awesome. In Nova Scotia it really depends on what you want to do and what time of year you're coming.

Hey I hate how people in Alberta don't have to pay taxes too but that's no reason to start hitting it...

That's just where I planned going. But then again, I have no clue of Canada.

WARNING! ALPHA FLIGHT SPOILER!!!

wait, one question: why are you taking a Candaian road trip?!

I recomend:

-going to a few pubs (or whatever their called their)(you only need to be 18)

-put a dog puppet on your hand and say "pour moi a poop sur!"

-go to Quebec, stick your head out of the window, point, and say "HA HA! Northstar's dead!"

If you're going to insult my country at least use the right stereotypes. The drinking age in Canada is 19 excluding 2 provinces, and Northstar isn't a Quebec superhero.

Well, if you're serious.. then I'd reccomend Edmonton and Calgary, both fine cities. I've actually lived in Edmonton for four years before moving to Toronto. And whilst in Edmonton, of course you have to see the World's Largest Shopping Mall, the West Edmonton Mall. Myself, I've been as far east as Montreal and as far west to Vancouver whilst travelling Canada. The Rocky Mountains' a great place for skiing and snowboarding, particularly around Banff.

Yeah. Banff is my first stop. Edmonton mall though, I dunno....I'm not the shopping type.

I said 18 becuase when my friends went up there, they were told the drinking age was 18. now either a) that's the drinking age of whereever they went, or B ) the bar tenders wanted to make a little extra cash.

Northstar grew up in Quebec City, and called Quebec home, which is close enough for me.

and I didn't say he was a superhero. :)

When I first saw this thread I was reminded of the episode where Kyle, Stan, Cartman, and Kenny went to Canada.

"Follow the only road, Follow the only road. We have one road in all of Canada." :)

Good story. Just yesterday, some Canadians were down here, visiting and I counted the times they said "eh". 45.

Are your friends American? Yeah I thought so! What do they know? :) The legal drinking age in Canada is 19, only Quebec and Nova Scotia's bars have an age limit of 18.

count the number of times you see it in an Alpha Flight issue when it's written by an American. (but they did put in a Hitchhiker reference... :))

Woah! When did the government change that law? You mean I can drink in a few months? Silly me thinking that the other province was Alberta not Nova Scotia :)
