Anyways, United or American? (Airlines)

Southwest (unless it involves the Chicago Midway airport. They lost my luggage twice.)

 

Why Southwest? They have cheap fares, largely because they are one of the more efficient airlines. They only have 2 or 3 plane types so they don't need to have specialized ground crews for each model the way other airlines do. Plus, since they only have 2 or 3 plane models I know I will have at least adequate legroom no matter what flight I take.

 

Plus I like the way the pilots and crew joke with the customers. There was one time where the pilot said "To those who are traveling with small children... what were you thinking?" Or when the pilot said "In the unlikely event of a water landing we will crash into the water at such a high speed that the floatation device is a moot point. In the entire history of crashes at sea there hasn't been a single instance where a floatation device would have helped." :P

 

Of course you need to take 3 flights to get halfway across the country, but you can't have everything.

I agree totally with Van Roy on Southwest Airlines, but I'm willing to give some of the newer carriers a chance (Jet Blue, Independence). I can't stand US Air/United.
