Coke or Pepsi...

61 posts in this topic

::Grabs pennies::

It depends on the product itself.

I prefer Coke over Pepsi

I prefer Mountain Dew over Mellow Yellow

I prefer Sprite over 7 UP

Wait...why do I care what you people think?

What about good old-fashioned root beer? Mmmmm.... root beer. Why are there no properly minty soft drinks? I think there should be a turquoise fizzy drink with peppermint and maybe caraway.

I prefer Dr. Pepper over Pepsi

Moutain Dew over 7-Up

Sprite over Sierra Mist

Coke over Pepsi

Dr. Pepper and Coke over Mr. Pibb

Dr. Pepper and Coke are tied

And on a side note...I love cherry coke :D

However, this being said, I am much like Mr. Helios...I will drink whatever soft drink is in front of me.....within reason.

Yes, let me clarify my post, if there is a selection i can see how you might go with your favorite. But choosing not to drink anything because your favorite is not there especially when you thirsty is kind of weird.

"It's not free!" Sorry, I liked the commercials...

I'll drink whatever, but I usually buy the Wal-Mart brand (lame, I know)...and it's usually pineapple or raspberry.

Dr. Pepper over Pibb

We don't get Mr. Pibb here, but I think I'd still prefer Dr. Pepper. He's got his PhD, after all.

i can definitely traate a difference pepsi is less fizzy and you dont really get that slight burning sensation during the first rink with pepsi. its also a lot more "silky than coke" coke is a lot better

I've always been able to tell the difference. Coke is more Carbonated (which is why I like it) Pepsi is a lot sweeter and goes flat quicker. :D

As for my tastes:

Coke over Pepsi

Diet Coke over Diet Pepsi

Sprite over Sierra Mist

A&W over Barqs

Slice rocks!

Canadian Dry over Schweeps, though Seagram's is good too (they also make Liquor)

actually at preferrable chill, all the beverages taste the same. It is only at warmer temperatures do they taste differently. There is a distinct difference between diet colas, and true colas being that sugar is replaced by the 1000X sweeter aspartaine.

::Unprys the two love birds with a lightsaber and shakes his head::

I like coke because it's more carbonated and less sweet, but for that same reason I like Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke, since Diet Coke is just burny and tasteless to me.

And by the way, has anyone noticed the difference in the flavor of Diet Coke at resturants (McDonalds etc.) recently? It tastes like crap now.

OK, having worked my way through college as a 7-Eleven clerk I can tell you that the soft drink you get out of a fountain machine is a different product than what you get out of a can or bottle. With a can or bottle you get a uniform formula in terms of syrup, carbonation, and water. (Granted that with the 2-liter bottles it doesn't STAY uniform - there are only so many times you can open and close and refrigerate the bottle before you loose the carbonation - but at least it starts out that way.)

With fountain drinks the carbonation, water, and syrup are mixed in the store, and every mixing aparatus is calibrated just a little off. Plus a lot more air gets into the mix. So not only is the drink at McDonalds different from the drink in a can, the drinks at different McDonalds franchises will be different from each other as well.
