Hello. I have never simmed before, but I think that this will be pretty fun. Do I have to post a bio/stat thingy or is that just extra?

No, you shouldn't worry about posting a bio for your chracter until you've graduated from Academy. Right now, you should be more focussed on fine tuning for simming skills first and foremost.
