Yeah. I was wondering about that.

But some of those quotes I remember from places. Like:

"All your base are belong to us"

That was in a comic book that I have.

More then likely, the comic took it from the game.

The game is a pretty big pop culture thing for game nerds like me.

Yes many people think that, but that is not guaranteed. And Moonves cancelling ENT isn't the only thing he wants, he plans to kill trek. Now theoretically if ENT dies, we may not have trek for years. I certainly can't go without trek for that long. So whether you like the series or not, at least we are lucky we have Star Trek.

they won't kill trek. there's still some money to be milked out of it. and as for those who can't live without ST, why not try a Star Trek book? I recomend Peter David's New Frontier series or KRAD's I.K.S. Gorkon. And there's also STO and the underdog version, Destiny's Wind coming out soon. And there still are toys and cell phone games and the card game (which now features Lt. Daniels. yay?). Or, you could always try simming. (we all know a Moose can come up with better ideas then B&:P

Yeah. Enterprise was --in my opinion-- the worst series ever. I say....cancel it. Bring on something new.

hello, are you forgeting TAS??? The Animated Series???

Yes. I am....I don't even want to think about that pathetic --in my opinion-- piece of work. More than just drain more money that could have gone to a descent series, they put together something that.......well, shouldn't be on.

Now if you saying that the TAS is the worst series, I agree. But that's not even Star Trek in my mind. Its not even a series, therefore, ENT is the worst.

Sacrilege !!!

Obviously the commenters were not around at the time that TAS originally ran. We had been without Star Trek for several years at that point, and I can't tell you how overjoyed we were to have at least gotten it back as an animated series. People who weren't born at the time this series ran, have to realize that animation of that period, was not the visual eye candy that it is nowadays. Also, this was the '70, the world was whole different place with the cold war firmly in place, Vietnam ongoing and thus many of the shows had political overtones to them (just as TOS) did, that were trying to make a point.

How you can say it's not even Trek though, just boggles the mind!! Where you have the following cast members in virtualy every episode, I just don't see where you can make that statement.

William Shatner as Captain Kirk

Leonard Nimoy as Spock

DeForest Kelly as McCoy

Jimmy Doohan as Scotty, Lt Kyle, and a multitude of others

NichelleNichols as Uhura

George Takei as Sulu

Majel Barrett as Christine Chapel, Lt. M'ress, ship's computer, and more

Mark Lenard as Sarek

Director:Hal Suttherland

Writers: D.C. Fontana

Samuel Peeples

Marc Daniels

Howard Weinstein

Margret Arman

Walter Koenig-CS (yes, while not a character in the eps, he did write

The Infinate Vulcan)

There are more writers, you you can look them up, I am just listing a few. So, I'm trying to figure out from the above list, how this is not Trek. Gene gave approval for it, the Paramount stamp is on it........ The arguement holds no water.

The Animated Series was more in tune with what Gene envisioned than some of the newer creations, and definately more so than anything that B&B touched.

take that out of contex, it sounds like Enterprise.

Oh. I was around. I watched one episode and saw how poorly it portrayed Star Trek. It didn't even have good plots, the whole story usually ended up with a fight between crewmembers or against the Klingons.

Maybe they had the voices of the real Characters, but that's not saying anything. Will Shatner is on other movies besides Star Trek. And to me, TAS was not Star Trek, just a attempt to boost watching time before it went under. And when it did, Paramount had to dig it out with the big TNG sale pitch.

No. Just opinion.

And yes, if placed correctly, cartoons can hold water. :P

Hey there,

Actually, while I do not like the fact Star Trek: Enterprise has been cancelled and did send in several letters, Star Trek XI is indeed under development. It was confirmed earlier this week that the individual who wrote the screenplay for the popular (and a favorite of mine) HBO miniseries Band of Brothers has been hired to write the script.

Reportedly, it will not deal with any established crew and will likely take place sometime between 2150 and 2240.
