Introduction- USS Agincourt

117 posts in this topic
Just to clarify something here, the U.S.S. Titan (post Star Trek: Nemesis) was never designated to my knowledge. By that I mean, we have no idea what class of ship it is.

the class-type of the Titan is a Titan-class.

That is not canon. With any luck, the Enterprise series finale will establish what class ship it is.

How? From Archer's standpoint the Titan won't even be *thought of* until 2 centuries in the future.

The finale is going to feature Captain Riker and Counsellor Troi (presumably on the Titan) without invoolving time travel.

Bottom line - DO NOT underestimate this ship.

Ive heard of instances in other sims where the players take the technology for granted and become lazy. For example, in mooses tips he talks about going through that long painful process of installing some part in the sim. How do Harper the Lovely and Davies the Gracious plan on dealing with it if people just have the computer do repairs, and the like, i do believe that that is why the reaent went from a sovvie back to an ambassador class. Just a thought. :)

Well, if worst comes to worst, there's always the good old-fashioned toothbrush method...

Seriously, relying on technology is a problem for any sci-fi game. The important thing is to find a balance between playing with the cool toys and letting the tech become a crutch. It's something even experienced simmers can struggle with from time to time, and there isn't much you can do except nudge folks back on track.

Spoliers!!! ****ing spoliers! I mean, come on!

ACTION: WxMurry is now on Kroells's blacklist

Alright, now to what I was originally going to talk about, and it has to do with the separation. Seeing as how the ship can split in three, it would be logical to assign crews to each section, however, in combat people get scatered and such, and not every is where they need to be, so in the event of a split, I would guess that there would be two upper ups commanding the lower two segments, but the saucer segment with the bridge on it would probably corrodinate the other two.

Those are just my thoughts, any input?

I'm sorry. At this point, anything on the series finale is pure speculation. I did not feel that any of this would be a spoiler.

I doubt Riker and Ms Riker (not Troi anymore hehe) will be on Enterprise.

That's what malfunctions are for!

To keep Mr. Kroells from becoming further enraged, I will place my next possible spoiler in my next post.

Warning: My next post may contain a possible spoiler.

Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis have been confirmed as guest stars for the series finale.

::nods at WxMurry:: Thank you.

In that sense, they could be any body. Ancestors of them selves, or maybe even ENT era Pandarians. Theres no point in speculating.

Oh, one other question for the Agincourt GM's

When will you be accepting applications for regular posts, other then second in command?

It wasn't really spoiler info in that it didn't tell anything of the episode, but if you don't want to know what's going on, then I shall endeavor to keep you ignorant as best as possible.

Captain Davies, I would like to apply for the Agincourt when the time comes, but I would be able to sim for a month and a half before having to go on LOA for the summer. Would you recommend I apply when during the initial application period or wait until fall?

Mr. Murray,

You are welcome to apply for the Agincourt when applications begin. We understand that from time to time players will not be able to participate for short periods of time and we are willing to work with your situation.

Sincerely,

Captain Davies

I think the hiding of weapons is good for first contact missions, when you approach them they think you're a friendly species with low armament but if worse comes to worse you can show them who's boss.

I agree, the whole "we come in peace" scene is blown when you walk in with a shotgun and dual pistol belts... :P

A quick question...

since the 2nd Officer will be the CSEC...will he/she be responsible for quelling the invariable squabbles between the Marines and the Regular Redshirts? :P

Ive seen this happen between junior officers/beat cops and special ops/SWAT

It would be nice if everyone would just play nice, though.... :o

well, "Character X and Character Y will appear on Enterprise episode 422" sounds alot like a spoiler. You have to remember; ignorance is bliss, and patience is virtue. Oh, and have you heard of something called "dramatic timing"?

Folks, could we move the Enterprise finale discussion to its own thread, please? I don't mind the little digressions this thread has spawned, but it's getting quite long enough without hosting two full discussions. Thanks. :P

I was thinking something along the lines of "Ah'-zhin-kor".
