We could have specialized departments for infantry, engineers, armor, intelligence, etc.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. Starfleet is at its heart a defensive military organisation. I think it might be cool to explore that side, though I think a lot of the sims do that anyway since we'd all go out of our minds if our sims were all collecting varities of fauna and fungi.

Its gonna be a borg sim, even though we (quite mockingly) discussed the impossibility of that.

 

Actually....it wasn't a discussion, i made a humorous post which was copied, not quoted, copied by both Grom and Van Roy in an attempt to mock me....then some comebacks ensued involving phaser rifles and digestive tracts...then the whole thing kinda died down but anyway....it WOULD be impossible to do a borg sim, know why???

 

...no character development, plus, all the characters would have to speak at the same time...plus, action statements would be "futile" because all drones would know when something happened! So unless you can find a chat host that lets everyone connect cybernetically to the internet...you're out of luck on the Borg idea. :lol: :lol: :P

Being attacked by Borgified Pakleds....priceless. Both times I've ran it, I had to wipe my eyes I was laughing so hard I was in tears. <for those that missed it, we were attacked by Borgified Pakleds..who proceeded to our messhall to assimilate our kitchen appliances.....We had toast shooting everywhere....

I was thinking of a starfleet marines advanced sim (probably with a couple of attached medics and engineers along for the ride). Its probably been brought up a lot but in theory its a good idea. We have all the trek canon about starfleet to go on, yet because the marines have remained so mysterious we can wing a lot of it. One problem would be the lack of actual multiple departments but I think that would be a nice twist, if we really go nuts we could basically say that different marines in the unit are different types of specialists like in the real world military.

Now as for a Borg Sim? :lol: That would be unique, going around and assimilating everything in site, but seeing as how most borg think as one, that mite cause a problem for simming purposes, right? :lol:

Oh man, I'd love covert operations, platoons behind enemy lines, the lot! I was wondering if it could even be possible for it to be set in a different era from the other sims for some variety, the everyone's a redshirt time! Ya know, when the bulk of the star trek movies were set. When the Klingons were still enemies, when Starfleet was a much more aggressive force in the galaxy and barely anyone could be trusted.
