He did? I always assumed it was based on the character in Diane Duane's TNG novel Dark Mirror. There's a dolphin-species scientist in it.

I've read it! But no relation...I was writing a character Ervin Xiang in a Trek series of scripts I was writing back in 1992 when I was aspiring to be a movie director. I was very young, they were terrible, and no I don't still have them. I wonder if Diane Duane got ahold of my script? Naah... :wacko:

ROFL! I talked about getting us together to do an imitation of that stupid picture, all gathered around A9's laptop or something... But alas, too many smoking Quark's bar drinks and I forgot all about it. Maybe next summer. And you are correct, we would have been wearing stupid t-shirts and Trek uniforms instead. :D
