Did anyone catch those Reman guards in the background?

Perhaps, I just never got into the TV thing. I more like to 'live' it. And after watching one episode, I decided that it wasn't worth watching. I will occasionally watch "First Contact" and "Generations", but that's just to help me with my simulator that I'm building in my house.

No, no I'm not with "Les Moonves". I don't even know him.

Why did you register again? :P

Yes! I forgot about that, in Fridays ep correct?

See, thats what I'm getting at: with all that potential, I beleive ENT would have worked ALL the Treks into the show in some way, with cool little nods to previous shows.

See here's my problem.

First I didn't like the show to start with (this is a well documented fact), so it's hard for me to sympathize with the "Save Enterprise" crowd.

Second, I can see Paramounts POV and understand their reasoning for canceling the show: the show was not making them any money, and the ratings and fan base just wasn't there like they had hoped for.

Seriously, many traditional Star Trek fans have been completly alienated by the series and are likely generally happy about the cancelation. Then you have the apathetic crowd, who is generally not really worried about. Then you have the other fraction of Star Trek Fans who are really upset.

But from the POV of a Studio, you have to look at this way, sure there are going to be fans upset at the cancelation, but is it worth losing money and continue to lose fan base and ratings with a program that wasn't really improving (numberwise, we'll save the subjective for people like us :P )to make a couple hundred thousand fans happy? (There are, after all, more Trekkies out there :P )

Of course, Paramount obviously decided that "NO" it wasn't worth it. The cand eal with a few unhappy fans, but losing money, ratings, and market share...no..

So, while I am encouraged that Trek Fan are finally getting off their collective rears and doing something about the State-of-Trek; I would just caution you that in all likely hood, Paramount won't change their minds about Enterprise. However, on the postive note, what this may do is make them realize that we're not going to put up with the BB-Twins just putting out some half-baked crap and slapping "Star Trek" and "Based on the TV Series Created by Gene Roddenberry" on it and calling it "Good Work."

...that was like five bucks...

See, i am not a huge fan that watches it constantly and LOVES it...i just don't like it that they are canceling a trek...and from the little i've seen, ENT is begining to improve...so i just don't see it as a good move right now

I have to agree with NDak on this one. Really, the reason why Enterprise got cancelled, like any show is it's low ratings. Despite the major improvements these past seasons, Enterprise's ratings continue to struggle. Heck, according to Neilson Ratings, the recent "Babel One" Episode garnered 2.5 million viewers, an all-time ratings low for Enterprise.

I do admire the resolve of you Save Enterpriseers, but I too seriouslly doubt it'll get anywhere. Paramount won't listen to the rantings of a few thousand Star Trek fans, a very small minority in the TV viewing market. Aside from you hard core Trekkies, nobody cares about Enterprise, and nobody watches. So I can understand Paramount's decision. What's the point of keeping Enterprise on the air without the higher ratings Paramount was expecting to back it up?

The first three seasons are what really killed Entperprise right from the get go. I just really hope when and if Paramount decides to do another Star Trek series, it'll be without those accursed B&B twins as they have really sulllied the good name of Star Trek.

Yeah, and that's why it lasted only three years. I think it was orginally slated for five.

Berman Salts the Ground; Discourages Syndication Talk

Alright, I had to post this link for all the read. This really just irks me beyond belief, inflating my hatred for Berman. Enterprise can clearly survive in syndication or in cable, but see what Berman says, it's such a crock... just read it before I say something I might regret... Needlessly to say, it shows how much we need to dumb the BB twins from the Trek franchise.

The writer also makes some very good points in the article, another reason why I posted this up too.

::sighs:: I love Enterprise....but...Im in Television..and ultimately..it ALL comes down to dollars and sense.

It makes no sense for me to have to stay up til 11p to watch Enterprise on a network I dont get... (the FOX affiliate carries UPN prime from 11p to 1A) AS a result, I have missed episodes...every commercial break is filled with network promos or national advertisers..which means...NO MOO-LAH...

Im sure other markets are in the same situation..sooo...the problem is two fold..

1) Less than stellar storylines in earler seasons meaning no money

2) A Network that is only in bigger markets, blacked out in others..meaning no money.

It was just too little, too late...and thats a shame..cause there have been some darn good stories of late...of course B&B were conspicuously absent during their creation...

::fingers crossed:: c'mon Sci-Fi...make that call.............

And what makes me wonder now?

I remember reading an article back in the early 90's that Berman was Gene Rodenberry's hand picked successor - Rodenberry worked with him and then stepped down, etc.

I now wonder how much of it was true, if at all.

I don't want to bash Berman: I look at Next Gen, DS9, most of the movies done with next Gen. - he did some good stuff. Enterprise was a leap in a new direction, I don't think anyone can deny that.

Still wondering though.

Yes well all the good things Berman did...he had someone holding his hand...but when he become God Of Trek the Ego Kicked in and it all went down hill from there.
