Proxima Centuri, Lincoln Outpost - for all that's holy...  I never thought I'd come back here and I dread being the first ship down there since we destroyed it all from the Aries, 10 years ago.  There have to be people at Special Ops who know my history with the place and yet they sent ME back!!!?  Gads, maybe that's WHY they sent me here first.  That is some bad cosmic joke, if I ever saw one.

Then again, maybe this is good to be able to exorcise this demon from my past.  I will finally get to go down and see where Megan died, see what's left...  I just hope I can hold it all together in front of the crew - in front of Jami!!  I'm glad she's been off the ship for now, but she's due to meet us here any day now.  How can I possibly explain this to her - and yet I must!!

Worst of all, is the bio-agent we detected down there.  It's been running free for 10 years and it's got a patch 5 KM wide that's SO concentrated that the ship's sensors can detect it from space as an organism!!!  It must have control of the entire surface of the planet and just "pooled" itself in this huge mass that's moving.  One thing's for sure, we can't go down there without the proper protection - and damned if I'm not the one person who can provide it, too!!  I just realized that!  Megan had injected me with the altered genetic mapping just in case there was a spill while I was down there.  It was highly selective and barely detectable on standard medical exams, but it will protect me.  Now we have to get Science and Medical working on mass producing it for any landing party - hell, for the whole crew, just in case!  Could someone at SpecOps have known about *this* too?  ::sigh:: What don't they know!?

::long pause::
