<----------------------I've had this for a while now, and as far as I can tell nobody else has this warning feature. Is this a precaution?

Noone else can see your warning levels, but you and the GMs, I think. IT's a precautionary measure just incase anyone gets out of hand.

I dont think the GMs have ever even warned anyone here on the boards. For the most part people behave themselves, although the occassional argument arises on one topic or another. I wouldn't worry about it.

OK, my understanding was that the ORIGINAL intent of the warning figures was as a tool to deter people from posting large files, signitures, pictures, etc. I don't think it was really used to discipline board conduct, just disk space. This was a couple upgrades ago when we didn't have an auto-resizer for pictures, etc. It might be irrelevant now.

Actually, I think they have.. Makavelli for instance said he has a 20% Warning Level, and I'm sure that Volch Du Sema dude had a pretty high warning level too. But as Vex said, I think Warnings are rare and you shouldn't worry about them too much. :D

That being the case, I can assure you that - if that is the intended purpose - my own level would be a lot higher. :D

As Sieben noted, the warning system has been, and currently still is being used.

When a waring level reaches 100%, the consequences are dealt with on a case by case basis. Only you, and the GM's can see your warning level. Should you start to reach 60-80%, you may be contacted by a GM to try to resolve what ever issue has created this warning level. Warnings may be as little as a talk to resolve an issue, to a ban from the boards or chatrooms for a lenght of time.

So...try not to get a warning... ::slaps ruler in hand::

Alert! An admiral armed with a ruler! Alert!

::does not shudder at bad school memories - attended school after ancient times:: :D

Thanks everyone for the input. I was just curious about the warn feature.

Also... if your warning level reaches 100%, you automatically lose your posting rights. The only ones who can change that would be A9, Sovak, or myself.

Generally it's not that big of a deal though, as 95% of the people here don't break the rules and get warned for doing so.

We get warned for breaking the rules even though we don't break them?
