Please, sass back...i mean sasbas, the last thing we want you to feel is held back! The academy is the reason we are ALL here with ranks from Ensign to Fleet Admiral. Of course you will feel like we know what we are doing....we've done it more. Consider it, some of the ahem...old fogies...like Blurox (no offense, love ya) have been simming for over a decade. The reason we alumni come back to the Academy, is certainly not to show you that we can do it better, its to help you do it better, to get you used to it. Now, if we threw you into an advanced sim right fresh...then you may have a reason for this post. but feel free to loosen up in the Academy...if you do make mistakes, thats all the better because you can learn from them. As for coming up with ideas, I was a bit apprehensive for my first couple sims too...but finally i decided to send a PM to the GM (hmm, sounds like a sesame street song) about an idea i had for an action....and she did it!! and it was fun. and fun is what the GM's continue to remind me that we are here to have. So don't worry that you were a bit nervous your first couple sim's. We are all a bunch of fun-loving star trek fans who love to see each other succeed.

Good Luck,

Ensign Sema'J

Greetings,

First off, welcome to STSF. It is a pleasure to have you simming with us. Second, please don't hold back, especially in the Academy! The STSF Academies are designed to help players achieve that level of proficiency thatyou have noticed. EVERY player graduated the Academy at some point, including the GMs. Don't worry about making a mistake. Mistakes are not only acceptable, but also anticipated in STSF Academy simulations! If you have read the getting started guide and Moose's tips for Academy simming (located in the STSF Academy seciton of the message boards) then from here on out, you can only get better with practice. Please keep in mind that there are (almost) always two GMs present at a STSF Academy. If you are ever unsure about something, either GM would be happy to assist you. Don't be afraid the drop them a PM. :) If you have any other problems/questions, feel free to post them here or PM one of the Council/GM Staff.

Welcome,

Only thing to remember is don't get in trouble with the following people. Atragon, Sovak, LoAmi, Blu, and....Tovan. As long as you remember that, you will be fine.

Well...an ancient Chinese proverb says...

Man who starts on top rung of ladder..has very long legs....

No..wait...thats not it....

Bahh..I cant remember now...the point is....we all start out not having a clue, then hopefully..we learn some and contribute and stuff and get killed by Blu...

::rolls out the Rihan Aefvadh mat::

Jolan tru and Aefvadh (Hello and Welcome) to the Star Trek Simulation Forum.

The Rihannsu Saeihr Nneikha bids au well, I hope to see au around the Retors (Academies).

Be sure to check out some of the non-lloann'na (Federation) games here at STSF like the RES Talon and IKC QoB/Lakota, I believe that STSF BluRox runs a Rihannsu Retor (Academy) on every other Monday. We won't bite...well the Kll'inghannsu might. (but that is a matting ritual for the Fvai )

Untill then, bedah new Erdeh (Cadet).

Sometimes I find myself crossing the line between technobabble and technobull. (Pardon my French)

A French-speaker! Get her! ;)

Van Roy is the U.S. derivative of Van Rooy which is Dutch. My family changed it when they immigrated to the U.S. generations ago because they knew it would be mispronounced.

Strange as it may be, I have almost no Dutch blood in me. Other than American I am more German than anything else.
