where did that come from? it looks like a sovvie with a deflector in the wrong place and an extra nacelle...i've never seen that class before. As for you shovel head people, i think the defiant looks like a high tech discus, so there!

Shame there is no way we can revisit these Starships that debued in ST First Contact. I suppose I was fortunate that they did use the Akira design in DS9 and Voyager. Was the Norway class ever on TV? For that matter, what of the Saber and Steamrunner classes as well. I don't recall seeing them on the littlescreen.

I dont like the Norway for one bloody reason...

Starfleet Command III

If you ever play it online, and play in the Activision servers where you get like ten bucks for conquering a planet, It takes hours just to get to a Norway. And then you do, and your happy, and the world looks bright...

...And then your raped by some kid flying a Negh'var who obviously has evolved past the need for sleep. Then your broke, and back to a loley Saber, and you want to kill something.

If you want a fairly complete list of those rotating ship thingies, click here.

They even have a rotating Borg Cube. I don't know why they don't have a sphere.

Nope it was in Voyager too, the one where the doctor was beamed aboard the Promesus ( I know it's spelled wrong) and it's one of the defending federation ships.

Actually, the episode "Message in a Bottle", episode 181, Season 4, contained two Defiant class starships and one Akira class starship. If you check the ship that could be confused at Norway you will note a rounded saucer section which is not characteristic of the Norway class vessel.

The Norway class was not featured in Voyager unless it is somewhere among the mix featured in "Endgame".

You know, that's the first person that I've ever heard or seen (typed) the word 'raped', besides me when I'm doing just that on Halo 2.

no no, that was a prometheus class. its different than norway, it has four nacelles, and MVAM (which is cool) as for all the rotatie things, some people have too much time on their hands...wow, i doubt they've really shown ALL of those on trek...anyway, i like the look of manticore's nebula, with the two halves of the sensor module slanted down. and i like the centaur class. and the akira, though its cool, always looks like its flying at some crazy angle with its bow pointed up.

::nods:: According to Daystrom (ditl.org), it's only been in ST:FC. I take their word for it.

As most people know, I am a huge fan of TOS so my favorite ships include the refitted Constitution (my favorite), the Original Constitution, and the Excelsior.

However, one ship that wasn't seen until TNG but is based in TOS was the Soyuz class. That modified Miranda was just totally awesome to me.

Point remains, Norway wasn't in Message in a bottle...They sent a Nebula After her, which was easly dispatched, and then an Akira and two Defiants.

I would "conjecture" that we didn't see them again, because most of them got jacked in the battle against the borg  (I mean really every other scene was one, with one of those two classes getting toasted)

Actually I have only seen one image where the ship had it's "nose" in the air...and that was against the Borg when it was firing its saucer-ventral torp. launcher, all of the other times I have seen one they were flying perfectly normal

Not to mention she has 15 (thats Canon) Torpedo Launchers

I believe, although I cannot confirm, that there was only one Norway in the battle against the Borg. The class is in production, though, as the name is the USS Budapest NCC-64923.

I was refering to the Akira in the post you pulled. (and yes, only one Norway was shown that I have ever seen, but that doesn't mean that it was the only one. )

I somewhat agree with you there. The original constitution wasn't a big hit with me, but the refit was nice looking. and even though it looks odd, the exelsior class has kind of a regal elegant look to it, and the fact that they were in production for such a long time says a lot
