Hey folks,

Since most folks watch the show, I thought I might start a somewhat regular discussion. Basically, each week I'll post a poll and we can try to get a discussion going on the Enterprise episode of the week.

In order for this to work properly, and be fair to people who have not seen an episode, please be sure to use the SPOILER button if needed. :)

Well, enough with that...what did everyone think of the 'Canamar?' Overall I liked the episode. However, I really wish they would start having first contact with more future-Federation races we know about. Why not have the exact same story with the Caitians?

yes I also thought Canamar was a good episode, although, I don't understand why

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

Archer didn't go for the docking bay door the first few times he knocked out the bad guy, I mean, they were by the door the entire time and the guy went down like 5 times
but anyways, the entire thing was pretty good, nice storyline, I just wish we saw some ships blow up, oh and by the way for all of you...

I'M BAAAAAACKKKK

I thought it ranked up there with the better of the Enterprise episodes.  It had a good storyline and a fair bit of action.

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

It also showed a bit of character development in Archer.  I'd suspect that in the earlier days, we might have seen him arguing at the end with the diplomat for fair trials/release of innocent people, or even refusing to turn the rest of the prisoners back over.  Instead, all Archer did was walk away from and scream back a pretty succint, yet terse reply.

It made its point without too much preaching.

I did not get to see the episode this week (was on the road traveling)...  but I've read good things about it.  The writing and plots seemed to have improved quite a bit over the past season and a half, so maybe they're really moving in the right direction.

TNG had a rather slow start itself....  so maybe this is something similar.  But I am looking forward to catching up on the missed episode.

Hey there,

Well, when you think back, every incarnation of Star Trek has. The original series didn't become really, really, really popular until after it was off the air. TNG took until around Season 3. DS9 same thing. Voyager...well...they didn't start getting decent ratings until Season 5/6/7

Hum, yes, I am revising my opinion of Enterprise... slowly...  I don't believe I've seen Canamar yet.  Whether that's due to release schedules over here or the fact that I have no idea which night/time the new episodes air since I haven't been following it, I dunno.  But last night I caught an episode about a kidnapped princess... And while the whole 'spoiled royalty that really needs a good kiss' thing has been done to death and then some, I have to say the scene with Archer telling the alien about the tribunal had me rolling in the aisles...  And the one about Hoshi 'disappearing' was pretty well done, although the end was classic 'Star Trek happily-ever-after', which I thought they'd been trying to get away from (slowly) in the other incarnations.

Actually, I was kind of glad it was like that.  The end explained why none of the technobabble during the episode made any sense.
