Dang it. I'm in enough trouble as it is.

I swear I saw "she" somewhere, seriously. No offense, but I think I really did.

Yeah, I know that feeling.. my alter ego on the Arcadia had the same trouble when a male Klingon started to come onto him thinking he was a girl cuz of his name. Heh

hey, same with me! i saw "ami" and immediatly assumed it was a girl. ...

FYI

Lo Ami

comes from the ancient Terran Hebrew meaning Not my people.

(the transliteration is inaccurate but effective)

just so you know......

It is a name of a male child (the youngest son of the Terran Prophet Hosea)

[hosea 1:9]

Not much of an FYI there. :-) I wrote the origin in the first "where did you get your name?" post. And, it *is* a (rather depressing) guy's name, despite ending in an English vowel (Vectra/Seiben - I think the vowel thing is the root of your gender problem too).

T'vin - your translation is about as accurate as a translation is going to get. Any "inaccuracy" would come from the fact that I changed the spelling and internal punctuation slightly in order to make it more pronouncable and more alien sounding.
