Why everyone likes Star Trek.....

27 posts in this topic

Everyones seems to love Star Trek, and I understand why. First,

you have a big living room, you practically live in a giant living room

with a huge chair in the center. And everyone knows why the Klingons

keep dropping in.....because you have a big screen TV . So....you just

sit there, flying in space, watching your big screen TV .

I suspect that's why Generations didn't do so well in theatres. The audience needed to adjust to seeing an 8-foot tall Picard nose.

Heh...Yeah, whenever I pop a disk into the disk drive I cant help but utter "Engage".

Then my crappy computer freezes, and I mock myself for acting stupid.

don't feel bad...if you didnt think i treated my car like a shuttle craft, you would be sadly mistaken... :D see, thats me drivin the shuttle craft...i say 'lock in reverse power' or 'all stop' when i'm out and about. The trick is remembering not to do it with others in the car :P

:P Done that. ::raises my hand sheepishly:: When I use to drive, I had a little Datsun that was my "personal shuttle". Made the mistake one time when some of my family were in the car of saying "ahead, warp factor one" as I got on the interstate. Spent the remainder of the trip being called "Captain Dave". :P

Aww, what a cute little minivan. lol.. Buut it didn't beat that van that was customised to look like an actual TOS Enterprise era shuttle I saw for sale once on eBay ::kicks self mentally for not saving a picture of that, it was classic::

The whole minivan shuttle thing reminds me of a commercial a while back, something along the lines of that. The guy is driving through the parking lot making his own little "Captains log".

Wish I could remember more.

I remember that commercial. It was either on Spike TV (or maybe it was still The New TNN) advertising TNG or Earthlink had it for their Star Trek ISP which no longer exists.
