Saek tr'Vosh

Just a little Patience

Vosh shifted restlessly back and forth at his con panel. Of course, the little reminders from t'Ksa has gone beyond her rude comments as she left the Oira...her little torture box was sending regular "reminders"..each io making Vosh jerk or twitch na matter how hard he tried na to. That in itself, was na problem. The REAL problem lay in what would happen if, while he was attempting to make a course adjustment, the thing went off..causing him to inadvertantly hit a wrong key. Plus, he only had io hand to use...the blender on his right arm was around 14 centimeters wide and almost twice as long. It reminded him of the time Ll'eona had gotten caught in the cookie jar...literally.

It was a beautiful day and with the winter solstice approaching, his mother had done the unthinkable and actually baked cookies. Saek could remember the smell vividly..how it rolled throughout the house. Apparently, it had an effect on Ll'eona as well...because she had dug her little hand as far into that jar as possible..only to find that she couldnt retrieve them with her clinched fist. He tried to explain to her that she had to let go..and he could simply pour them out of the slender cylinder..but she would na listen....then father had found them both there. But, instead of getting angry...he simply told Ll'eona to let go..which she of course did. Then, with a wink of his eye and a "do NA tell aus mother" he gave each of us a couple cookies and took io for himself. Later, when mother found the raided jar she went off on him, telling him those were for the children to eat after dinner..and he should be more considerate...he just nodded and said "Ie...I will..." and that was the end of it.

Vosh sighed..he had forgotten that day....perhaps..he had forgotten more than that...but it was too late to mend those fences. An errand jolt from out of na where saved him from waxing too nostalgic about his fathers yy'a..."Ughh..."

He looked back the viewscreen..with the Lloahn'nna vessel inching its way through the darkness of space..inching toward....what..or whom? That was the real question. He looked down at the metal casing on his hand..and thought...perhaps Laeh' could attach some type of appentage or insulated tip on the bottom..since he had to keep this blasted thing on another thi days. He glanced over at Koga...he hated to ask him to slave the helm again..but he needed time to get to Engineering and try and get t'Temarrs help. She had told him if he needed help to let her know..but..her emotions were as volatile as the Neutral Zone and if he caught her at a bad time..it would be "Na Dice."
