We have a large group players here at STSF from all over the world and with so many new players in 2004 (already more graduates this year than last), it's interesting to find out how you all first heard about us. So...how did you first hear about us? If there's a answer that pertains to you that is not up there, please PM me and I will add it for you. ;)

Through the Startrek.com Community Page. I actually first heard about it in March, 2003, but my computer was having problems with Java so I couldn't get into the chatrooms and type until May. And well after that, the rest is history as they say.

I was looking for a superior turf-sod farm.

Nah, really, what happened is I and a couple other startrek.com chat regulars were killing time in their old Holodeck when some other people showed up and said "Hey, we have this room reserved! You can't sim here!"

Well I said "Who do they think they are? Bunch of 30-year old nerds who still live in their parents' basements telling me they have this room reserved." and, at the time, there was nothing official saying so. So I said "Well, I'll show them..."

And I've been showing you all ever since. ;)

From the Star Trek community section. I actually came here by accident . . . I clicked on the wrong link ;)

Then the page loaded and I said, "Hey, this sounds cool," so I registered on the forums and never looked back.

I noticed it was one of STARTREK.com's message boards and checked out STSF to see what it was.

Actually, someone did this same topic a couple years ago. I mentioned how I became involved in STSF then as well as in my Player of the Month bio.

However, the person who first said she found us looking for Superior Turf-Sod Farm wasn't me, it was Huff.

Yeah, they couldn't resist the high salaries, the large bonuses and the attractive benefits provided.

Oh wait, that's just to me, sorry.

I said "I wonder what this is" and clicked on the STSF link on the Startrek.com message boards. Registerd here back in July, started thinking seriously about giving it a try, and finally started simming two weeks ago.

I did pen and paper RPG (non Trek) for about 3-4 years, off and on, in the mid 90's.

STSF is my first Trek RPG, as well as my first on-line RPG. Trek rules.

I love traveling to new solar systems, meeting strange, interesting new people. Then, blasting them with a phaser. ;) I had read about online role playing games in an article on yahoo. I've been playing rpg's for over 25 years, and got interested on doing them online. I did a google search and found STSF. Came in and looked around, and went to the chat room and chatted a bit in the lobby. Told Angie about it and we decided to join up. Been having fun with it ever since.

Zaphod,

"I purr, therefore I am."

Tovan> I go here. And that's Seiben. He's cool, eh. German, too.

Yeah, I'm not actually German, eh? Only Seiben the character is, I'm just Canadian, eh? ;)

I came for the chicks and beer.... ;)

::sighs::

Of course, I was looking up info on Enterprise @ ST.com at the time...

I found Blu in the holodeck...she tried to shoot me...I pinched her...she punched me in the face...

It was just a purrfectly delightful discovery... :D

You guys are in Wikipedia?! ;)

Yes and no. There isn't a Star Trek Simulation Forum section in Wikipedia, although there are other Star Trekish sections that have a link to us.

My entire being here was by accident. At one time, I was a frequent visitor to the Science/Technology Message Board at startrek.com. I left shortly after Master_Q left, because all people could do was complain about everything and wouldn't talk science (heh).

Over the next few months, I'd check the Science/Technology Message Board 3-4 times a month, mainly to see if Master_Q had returned or not (because he was a very intelligent person... and btw, he never did come back...). On one of these occasions, I saw the chat room and decided to go in. (This was before startrek.com did any type of advertising for STSF.) As fate would have it, I stumbled in on two GMs (Celot and Jami, I believe), and have been here ever since. Honestly, the chances of me actually doing that were quite unlikely. It was only my 3rd time actually clicking the "Chat Room" link. ;)

Weirder stuff has happened. Hehehe.
