StarTrek.com's message boards, so I took a look around, joined and the rest was history.

all right! i was the first to choose wikipedia...

it was a late night, i was surfing around doing some late night learning (i often type a random topic into wikipeida, and see what links it offers me and click on them to learn more), and one night i found out about this place, and joined up.

i tried an email sim a while back, but it never panned out, to difficult to try and write for it because before you know it, there was so many different 'alternate universes' where you would have to try and mesh them all back together, in a chat format, everyone participates, and can contribute to something meaningful without having to write other peoples dialog.

so with that said, BEST SIM EVER! ::in a comic-book-guy voice::

Found out about it from the Community page on ST.com. Sat around for a few weeks then signed up. I believe that was in August of '04.

I left shortly after Master_Q left,

Actually, Master Q is still active. I don't know about the startrek.com boards but he and I chat in the startrekfans.net chat room and exchange PMs quite frequently.

No joke, this is some awesome news. Thanks for bringing this up (though, admittedly, I posted that comment a couple of years ago, haha). He use to present some awesome topics over in the science and technology board at ST.com. He left after some stupid members on the board started flaming him and junk like that. It was a sad day.

Woo, this just made my day, haha.

I did a lot of RPGs in high school and college, D@D, Trek, etc. And, I wanted to see what this "online" role playing was all about. So, I did a search in yahoo for Star Trek RPGs and found STSF. So, I logged in and liked what I saw. And in March of 2004, I started simming here. I've been out of the loop for a while because of school and work. But, I've been missing it a great deal lately and I'm planning on comimg back to it soon.

Laterz,

I actually heard of this from Google, but I put my vote in Wikipedia, because when I found it, I thought it was just a normal forum about star trek.

I found this website, Star Wars Combine, very much like this website, and I almost joined, but it only lets you in if you have an email acount you pay for. I have gmail so i couldnt play. I was so angry that I found something star trekkish because i love star trek and star wars, but i wanted to find somethin g rivaling star wars, and i found this. I looked it up on Wikipedia and it sounded cool to me, so I came here and joined today. :)

I was Googling RPGs cause I enjoy them, (Theres a suprise). STSF.net came up and I read about it and was hooked from day 1. This was my first RP experience that didn't involve a gaming console. Never did D&D or anything else of the sort. Thankfully I had crazy people like Jami, Blu and all the other GM's who helped me out to get this stuff down. Sadly I was never in too many of NDak's house of pain sims, I think he was in a slump when I went through. Too bad really. :D

People can only join that site if they have a paid for email account? Well dang - they are shooting themselves in the foot with regard to potential players.

I had been a member on the "old site"(sfol)...saw some bad things happening, around 1996-97,and just left.

I have been a member of star trek.com for many years, while cruising around the website one afternoon I clicked on the new site, checked it out,and joined up,love it,none better... :D

I first heard about us when I typed a frustrated IM to A9 one night that said,

"We should contact startrek.com and ask them if they want an intact simulation forum."

:P
