Trichon

A day in the Life...

Trichon took the Padd with the encrypted data to his office. He quickly downloaded the contents into hi spersonal console and with a few simple keystrokes brought up the data files encryption on his screen. "Standard Level 3 Starfleet encryption huh? Should be easy enough. Compuer run decryption program Light-Alpha3."

The computer sat for a moment and then chirped in "Program running. Estimated time to completion 15 minutes." Trichon leaned back in his chair and took this rare oppurtunity to catch his breath. He had been at a non-stop pace since taking over the chief of engineering posistion. He glanced up at the desk to sift through the various PADDs scattered across his desk and knocked over a framed picture. He picked it up and looked at it. It was a picture taken shortly after he came aboard the Arcadia, of the whole engineering staff. Thomas was there looking all serious like he always did, next to the chief was Hans grinning as usual, and then there was Merri. She had joined the crew not too long after he had. Merri had been so quiet and shy when she first joined them he barely even knew she was there, until the Arcady Prime away mission that was. During that mission he had accidently injured Merri while he was under the control of the Arcady queen. They had been required to make a visit afterwords to see the monks at P'Jem, it was during that time that Trichon had gotten to know Merri and they had become close friends since that time. It wasnt until recently that he realized how close they had truly become.

Even now he missed her. He hated the fact that they had to keep there relationship a secret. The fact of the matter was that they had to. Dating a subordinate under your immediate command is frowned upon for reasons that were obvious. It didnt mean that he had to like it but the truth was it had to be done. The suprising thing about there realationship was how easy it was becoming to "feel" Merris presence. He had always known the El-Aurianswere supposed to be latent telepaths but it was easier with Merri. Even now he could sense her, and showhow he knew she coudl sense him too. He reached out with his mind and brushed across her mind. Even the slightest touch was intoxicating to him.

"Decryption complete." the computer startled him back to the real world. "Display file contents." He began looking over the files. Nothing was really out of the ordinary. Crew logs, flight recorder data, ship log, and the investigators results of the loss of the Arcadia D. It was all standard reports for when a ship was lost. What was so important about this that the captain risked them getting caught hacking into Starfleet files for? He stared at the screen. Something just didnt add up. There was something missing from the puzzle but the question was what.

"Computer I need you to compile a report."

"Parameters?"

"Compare the decrypted files to the orginal reports in the datablase concerning the loss of the Arcadia-D. Look for any key words, names mentioned multiples times, and places. Also note any differences between the two. Also send the complete comparsion to the offical investigation report and the one in the new decrypted files. Compile and send to my personal file LightEcho5."

""Working..... Estimated time to completion 4 hours." Four hours was perfect. Trichon had a meeting with the senior engineers for weekly status reports and then he had a meeting with Merri that she had scheduled for them. He sent a quick message to Merri letting her know he might be a few minutes lat. He stood up and left the computer running. In four hours he might have his answers.
