3D Chess Challenge!

Years ago I got a 3D chess set because it looked cool. On a whim I read the rules and set up the pieces... For kicks, I started a game... And it was really cool! lol. I'm a nerd. However, as time went on, my chess partner got too friggin good at the game and I always lost, which is no fun, so I stopped.

I was thinking, I'm in a forum of nerds and there might be some that would enjoy a game now and then.

SO... if anyone would like to play some cyber 3D chess with me (and won't mind if the game moves slow when I'm working a lot, or if my cats knock over all the pieces and I've lost the board diagram somewhere...), let me know!

I went to look for a good virtual 3D chess board, and found a million sites, so I'll leave it to you to hunt down one that works for you. I'll be using a real board, just because I recently found it and dusted it off. It's also listed as tridimensional chess.

You could always kill 2 birds with one stone and play 3-D chess with your cat.

This sounds like something I'd like to get into as well. I'll do some research on it.

I can just imagine Huff and Garnoopy giving 3-D chess codes during the Qob sim.

Yeah, me too, lol. I'll start with Garnoopy if he's game (haha, no pun intended), and if you want, you guys can play each other, and later we can switch around? I don't think a9 will mind if we do it here on this thread. (We can even just edit one post a million times so there aren't 100 replies for each game, lol).

Garn, just give me a couple days to hunt down the rules again and set up the board, lol.

I always thought the 3D chess set looked cool too, but never managed to purchase it.

Plus the fact....I want to learn how to play "REAL" chess first. LOL

Hey there,

If I had a set, I would. Shame there isn't an online multiplayer version somewhere...

Absolutely. I'll have to figure out how to do it on my end, given that I have no 3D chess board. Maybe I can find an online version or something?

What we can do is just edit one post... like so:

Dec. 5, 2004, 5:01 PM CST: C5 to C6

Then, once you move, I can just edit my post to:

Dec. 5, 2004, 5:01 PM CST: C5 to C6

Dec. 5, 2004, 8:00 PM CST: B2 to B3

If you want to do it on the board that is, which would give people a chance to see. Might be fun to, people discussing who's going to win.

Found this online, you might as well just visit the web page, given that copying and pasting didn't turn out the way it should look.

Buliding Your Own Star Trek Chess Board

I also found this web page, which allows you to download (although it is a very old program) Star Trek 3D chess board and game. I haven't had time to use it, but I don't know if we can use it and save games to come back to the next day.
