True or False: The Star Trek Simulation Forum initiated Academy games only after all legal issues with Paramount Digital Entertainment (www.startrek.com) had been dealt with.

I think someone else got it, (hey, there were only 2 possible responses), but my guess would be "true." Paramount is very finicky about their "intellectual property." Use of the names Star Trek™, Starfleet (TM?) are potential trademark violations, and simming involves producing derivative works of copyrighted material.

I say "False". I believe the USS Wesley Crusher set sail while the legal issues were still being worked out.

Actually, the answer is indeed false. As Vanroy mentioned, the U.S.S. Wesley Crusher set sail about two and a half months before all discussions with PDE were completed (and actually two weeks before STSF appeared anywhere on www.startrek.com). This was the first sim, of any kind, to sail under the STSF banner. It took place on August 11th, 2002 at 11:00pm.

 

Question 4:

The preliminary list of positions for the STSF GM Council included ten slots. By the time the senior administrative body was decided, only six positions (Rear Admiral level) remained. In addition, a new slot had been created. What were the titles of the five "Rear Admiral" level eliminated posts? (Hint: See About Us for a listing of the GM Council). Points will be awarded for each correct title (five possible).

Well, yeah, I do have somewhat of an advantage - being that I am one of the relatively few rank-and-file players who has actually SEEN a GM. :P

You mean GM's really do exist.... :D
