Suits, gravity, all make for a warm welcome

The first moments I had aboard the sky harbor were interesting; I was expecting a bunch of uptight do-gooders but, boy, was I wrong. We lost gravity, life support, and power but the people that I was with were able to keep a cool head and make jokes. This is my first day, however, so it may be that they wanted to give me a warm welcome but I hope that I can have this experience all of the time.

The ion storm which had threatened the station seems to have dissipated for the moment and maybe even has stopped for good. I hope so. Hopefully its not just the eye, the eye would mean that it is only half way finished. Halfway to go, eh. This is not as easy I had hoped, but this is what I signed up for, right? These Eva suits, horribly uncomfortable, I can’t remember a single cadet back at the academy who liked them.

We’re heading back to the staging area that we had set up only minutes ago. I guess we will just hang out there and wait for the systems to turn back on. Hm. Maybe I’ll get to do something science related. I hope I get a chance I fell that I need to do something. Something to show that my time on the Leave of absence wasn’t spent forgetting everything I learned… I’ll ask Ltjg Raumuk if she needs any help first thing. Once I get this EVA suit under control.
