I used to play pen and paper RPG's (D & D, Vampire) back in the mid 90's, but as a Trek fan, I want to try a Trek On Line RPG. This seems like the best place to start.

Take your time..meet the GMs...research the various ships....and be sure to have fun while contributing...

Ive been haunting the boards for the past hour or so, checking out the various ships. Wow. Choices. :o

 

At first glance, Ive narrowed it down to the following: USS Hood, USS Republic, and USS Manticore.

 

And I know for fact I will play a Caitian. Gotta love the kitties.

 

Ive also checked out the rules, Academy Sim tips, Academy schedules. So, hope to be in a academy sim soon.

At first glance, Ive narrowed it down to the following: USS Hood, USS Republic, and USS Manticore.

 

And I know for fact I will play a Caitian. Gotta love the kitties.

well..at least you have a species narrowed down to one...all fine ship choices..really depends on simming style and era preference...

 

One thing, though...If you choose one of my posts...the republic..I recommend not referring to caitians as kitties....(the CO is Caitian..and prone to fits of of clawdom when provoked) the admiral might make you her own personal scratching post :D

 

Just take your time and learn as mush as possible...sounds like you are on your way already...

Join the Republic or Hood, we need new ensigns there (particularly the Republic, we're overrun by Lt. Commanders), Manticore has enough ensigns as it is already. :D And plus, you won't be alone if you choose the Rep since the Comanding Officer of the Rep is a Caitian herself. :) Goodluck and cheers man, whatever you choose.

The Rihannsu Saeihr Nneikha bids au well, I hope to see au quii around the Retor.

 

Be sure to check out some of the non-lloann'na (Federation) games here at STSF like the RES Talon and IKC QoB/Lakota, I believe that STSF BluRox runs a Rihannsu Retor (Academy) on every other Monday. We won't bite...well the Kling'hannsu might (but that is a matting ritual for the Fvai )

I hafta admit Im liking the looks of Republic, especially after viewing the intro to the ship:

 

These missions involve science exploration and diplomacy in the Gamma Quadrant, and patrol and security of the demilitarized zone between the Breen, Cardassian and Federation space

 

Science x ploration, patrol, and diplomacy: that pretty much says everything that I look for in a Trek adventure. And I like the fact they have what I assume is a hyperactive AI? LOL!

 

Getting ahead of myself though. Gotta get thru Academy first. :o

Well the Qob is so desperate for Ensigns right now that we even had to take one of our GMs and demote him just to get one. :D

Or, at 10 PM (Eastern Time) you can watch the Manticore - yes, Manticore and Republic sim at the same bat time, same bat station, different bat channel (Republic is in the Holodeck and Manticore is in the Ready Room)
