“Commanding Officer’s log, USS Lewis, stardate 0411.18. We are situated well beyond the Cardassian system, observing the storm’s path and coordinating the aftermath rescue efforts. We have been able to commandeer the assistance of civilian and non-aligned ships as well as quite a few Federation vessels. The USS Yorktown is waiting on standby and should be the first vessel to assess the situation after the storm. We have maintained direct communication with the fleet members, including the USS Yorktown, though communication has been inhibited by the ion storm. We will wait here until the system is declared safe and passable. We should start receiving some concrete information hopefully within the hour. Until then, the War Room of the Lewis remains on constant alert. Commander GromVik out.”
