“For a warrior, not all challenges are physical”

Computer open personal log and begin recording…

“I’ve been through many troublesome situations through my career, but none have been more troublesome than those situations that are beyond my or any other’s control or those situations that are squarely in the hands of others. I remember having to evacuate Sky Harbor Aegis at least once before. I remember boarding Pandora’s Box thinking to myself, if only there was something that I could do. Yet, there was nothing that anyone could do. In the end, Star Fleet had been duped and we had to take back the station by force. Rear Admiral Meve is facing a slightly different angst. With the ion storm pounding and bashing the station, he knows in the back of his mind that there is nothing that he can do. He must trust his capable staff to weather the storm without him.

For a warrior, not all challenges are physical. In this case, for the Admiral, the battle is in the mind, in the psyche. In order to win this battle, the warrior must overcome himself and place his confidence in his brothers, his comrades. He must fight along side of them with his spirit…

Perhaps, then, being on the sidelines is the greatest challenge of all. Yet, I know that Rear Admiral Meve has the strength and the resolve to overcome this challenge. When all is said and done, this experience will grow him as a leader and, most importantly, as a person. I know this to be true. In the mean time, my staff and I will continue to assist him in any way that we possibly can.”

Computer close personal log.
