character creation (pre-academy)

Well, first you need to attend an academy sim. Then when you graduate, you will be assigned a post on a ship, that is where you will create and develop a character. It is up to you wether you want to create a character now in a profession like say, medical, and limit your options, or you can create a character once you have a post.

But, that's not to say you can't do all the character work ahead of time and start playing with your character even at the academy. Just let the real side of you show a little more than you would during an advanced sim.

:: smiles :: First of all, welcome picard.

During an Academy sim, there is rarely time to devlope your character or use his specific traits. Most people tend to just remain human through the Academy, for GM's aren't going take your biography into account when you are simming with them.

However, like it was said, you coudl always begin playing around with something. Most people tend to have an idea as to what species and such they want to be already for when they join an advanced ship. You could always begin putting it together, and just have fun playing around with it. My experiance is it takes a week or more to put together a good bio that you like, but that may just be me.

If you have any more questions, feel free to post and I'm sure someone can scrounge up some answers for you.

:) A week, it only took me about 30 min to make mine. Well, it doesn't do into medical, and physiological or anything but at least it still informs people about my character
