Aww, "While I breathe, I hope" I like that.. it's cute. :P Sounds better than Ontario's motto --Yours to Discover.. :)

"VT INCEPIT FIDELIS SIC PERMANENT" means "Loyal it began, loyal it remains". Thats Ontario's real motto, "Your's to discover" is actually for tourism campaigns :P

Heh, "Loyal, She Began, Loyal she remains". I do like our motto, even though it is contradictory ::recalls Ontario's little rebellion of 1837::

You mean the one where 200 hundred rebels were defeated by 12 fresh civil milita men? *snickers*

It was given to Delaware due to its size and the contributions it has made to our country as a whole and the beauty of Delaware.

Beauty of Delaware...isn't that an oxymoron? Isn't that kind of like...West Virginia tourism? :P

::double duck::

You obviously, haven't been down to the beach!! ::swats:: You're just seeing that 11 mile strip that comes across from New Jersey on I-95, it just pulls a bit of Jersey along with it for a few miles....but it clears up as you head south.

On an up note....it's not in New England! heh I already picked on MA this week, so CT's turn.

Hey there,

Well, for four years Florida had the motto "Chads, their what's for dinner". Now, we're looking into accepting "Look mom! Now I can count to ten all by myself!"

It's mostly ::yawn:: farmland, except for a few nice spots on the coast. :P

I will agree about the comments about CT. It takes a lot of cash to be the second richest state in the union. BUT, having been raised in CT, there's still nothing like it. So much better than Commy Mass and Yankee Rhody!

Look out for gas-guzzlers speeding through construction zones. :P

By the way, in California if you speed through a construction zone they double the fine. In South Carolina, however, it is a minimum 2 days in jail.

I voted for Oklahoma's, but I think you forgot Kansas'. It happens to be "Ad Astra per Aspera," to the stars through difficulties. That's no joke.

Actually, I have used my own state's motto quite often, in confrontational instances.

"I'm from Missouri. You'll have to show me."

I'm not American nor Canadian but I voted for Oklahoma's "Labor vincit omnia" .

It is a great line.

I also like "Cogito ergo sum" (I think therefore I am)
