Halloween

Well, tis that erie time of year again when the scary stories and costumes come out for all to see. That time of year when children aquire cavities like adults aquire ulcers.

This isn't a time for just children to dress up in costumes, most of the people I know will be dressing up as well for parties and group gatherings (I haven't trick-or-treated in many years). So, regardless of your age...

Are you dressing up for Halloween and if you are, what are you dressing up as?

Lets see who will be the most creative with their costume! :P

A cary costume.

I have a choice between two scary and evil costumes.

Lawyer or Politician . Politician is winning :P

Haven't decided yet. ;) I like to wait 'til the last minute, and if I can't think of anything, I'll just put on a Yankees' cap. Scary, eh? For now, I'm not sure. Thinking of maybe putting on a Manny jersey, but that's to common right now. Maybe a Cubs Nomar one. That would be a rare find in Boston. :P Or, I could go and wear the hat with the hatchet in it. My favorite idea was to get a group dressed up as Monks, get wooden cutting boards, chant some Latin jiberish, and wack ourselves in the head with the boards! Best Costume Ever!

::rolls eyes:: I have to wear something for work this weekend, so as long as I'm required to go through the trouble of making/getting it, I'll give it double duty and wear it to a party as well. What is it, you ask? Something chartreuse of course! Shrek ears. :P (It has to be small and un-obnoxious for the job). A Puss'n'Boots hat would be good too, but I couldn't find one, and I just don't have the courage to go into another party store...

Yes, I wore it to school on thursday. I'm sure all the Canadians will understand "a drunken Newfie with a 24"

Needed something I could wear to work...so I pulled out my DS9/VGR uniform shirt I made back in high school, finally made the badge to go with it, and went Trek. I think people were impressed, and it turns out it's a lot easier to change diapers and feed babies and play Ring Around the Rosies in a starfleet uniform than, say, a witch's robe or a princess's gown. I am wearing it right now, and I'm not taking it off till Enterprise is over tonight.

But I am an embarrassment to Starfleet. I actually pulled out, tried to make a left turn around a school bus that was parked in front of our exit (slightly in part of the exit, making it harder), and scraped the side of my shuttle on the mirror that juts out of the bus, scratching off the paint on the very end of the bent mirror stalk. So I hit a school bus in my uniform. *dies* It's the first time I've been in any accident serious enough to warrant talking to the police about it, too. Because a spot of paint scraped off a school bus is, indeed, a very serious issue. Otherwise we wouldn't have spent an hour filling out paperwork, talking to the police, and laughing about how ridiculous it was...right? *sighs* I feel so awful.

ROFL Keb! Once the pain wears off, it'll be a great story! I'm sure the cops got a kick out of it back at the office, lol!

I'm going to be a space pirate. Don't have the second head or third arm to go as the great space pirate Zaphod Beeblebrox, but I do have a robot parrot. :P

Zaphod,

"Prime Directive! We don't need no stinking Prime Directive."

Many years ago whe I was first introduced to Star Trek I was given a uniform for my birthday. I of course thought this was the coolest thing in the world and proceded to excessorize it with a phaser, tricorder, and comm badge which truely chirped.

I haven't pulled that costume out of the closet in several years, untill yesterday.

I was invited to a party and didn't have a costume, hadn't really thought about it since I had no plans this weekend and don't trick-or-treat. Well, turns out Star Trek is cheesy.

I proeceded to win a prize for the cheesiest costume at the party. It was great fun.

Oh, and let me tell you, when you're wearing a comm badge that actually chirps when you tap it, many people will go around tapping your chest all night because it is apparently highly entertaining. :P

Usually when I try that I get slapped.

Every year when I take my son out for trick-or-treats, I pull out this black baseball cap I have with moose antlers on it. It doesn't matter what else I wear, I walk around with the rack.

This year, my excited cry of "Hey, guess what it's time for?" was met with rolled-eyes and a "not the moose antlers again" groan. But when we were done gorging ourselves on Milky Way bars, he admitted he thought they were pretty special.

I'm a contented Moose.

Gosh, I havent tricked and treated for about 15 years now. Now, I pass out the candy to all the little pickles. And I usually dont dress up.

Last time I did was at a church function a couple years ago. I went as my father. Since we looked so much alike (and we did everything together), it was hard to tell us apart.

Dressing like him in his work clothes, complete with a pillow tied to my middle to create a "pook" and a colored in mustache, made us identical twins!

I miss that Dad.

I have been absent from this month's weekend sims because of a recent Halloween gig I am doing at a local theme park. I've been working the past six weekends as Digger, the Used Coffin Salesman.

It's been great fun, although very tiring. (I really bury myself in my work)
