Hello, New to Simming.

39 posts in this topic

Hello all, Im reese_hawkins, obivously. I've been on the simming rooms since Tuesday. I love it.

Now, Im new to your rooms. But I was here when you had a simple room, and people running around firing off all sorts of crap, doing God-knows-what.

This is much better, you didn't miss much.

For the two academies I've been too, the STSF's have been nothing short of phenominal. I hope they see this, these message boards are overwhelming compared to what I used to go to. Particulary, STSF_Jami has been extremely helpful, and each time I am in an academy, find myself in a PM, discussing my actions and performance. I hope I land a position on the Manticore (wink-wink).

Well, Later you all!

Echoing what the others have said - Welcome!

And like Garnoopy said, feel free to ask questions. Somebody will be able to help you out I'm sure. I can tell you that I've got lots of answers, I just have yet to find a question to match.   ;)

(see, I can't even be funny :o )

Ah yes, the Hood...old, old, old, but good, memories. The days of cardboard steel inforced walls, aliens with no mass, just lights, and those damn cute fuzzy balls of joy! Maybe I exaggerated when I said good...

Not trying to be an old stick in the mud (I'm really not), but let's try to keep the language clean and civil, eh? ;)

but getting killed by dac is like a sacred part of your stsf experience, like death itself, it must come and crush you with it's $500 high heels.

Reese, I wouldn't try to avoid Dac. I have simmed on Wednesday many times and only died once!

exactly, though being melted by a core leak will cause a HUGE amount of pain, it's REALLY fun, that's just the type of masochistic people we are ;) go to the dac and face your fate!

And those are only the designer knock-offs.  I save the really expensive shoes for more formal killings and maimings.

Thanks all for your support. As by now of this post, IM on the Arcadia, with a new sim family.  Quite like a family as each of the members are threads in a sock, and when you take away one, you got a hole, and then your toe fills it and it hurts after awhile.  :o  So in conclusion, thanks.  :)

Welcome to the group Reese!  Glad you've found yourself a home and are happy!

On a brief sidenote and shameless plug...  remember, you "CAN" be on more than one ship.  Ships here...well, they're like eating Pringles....you can't eat just one.  So, join some more ships..... Like say....

The USS REPUBLIC (Those Federation type folks)

OR THE RES TALON (Those Rhiannsu folks)

For that matter, join enough so we have you every night of the week.....

Ok..thats enough caffine for me now.....gotta go.

Welcome aboard.

BluRox

I did that at one point....  in fact, on some nights I had as many as 3 sims back to back.  lol  -- It was fun keeping characters straight, and which one was doing what.

The problem of knowing all your friend's characters is worse.  I have a terrible time with my friend's character names because their first character name that I remember sticks firmly in my head. :o

Yeah, it is fun to be on more than one ship. I'm on two right now, the Reaent and the Manticore. Thinking about a third so I can even up with Garnoopy.   :)  For people who do have multiple sims, it is interesting to see how their characters are related, or not related at all. For my characters (One Human/Trill, one Ullian), they are essentially brothers, although the Ullian is adopted into the family. Fun to put logs together in that way too.

Randy - 3 sims back to back? :o I mean, I like simming and all, but how on earth could you find time to do that?
