Mission Brief -

The USS Yea (christened by travis) has been dispatched to  The Magda Colony, a methane mining facility in a desolate star system.  Their biodome is on the verge of collapse.  Away teams will be dispatched with the following assignments:

 

Security: Organize the evacuation of non-essential areas and supervise the crowd control

Medical: Tend to the injuries already caused by methane poisoning

Engineering: Prevent the damage to the biodome from getting worse

Science: Come up with a method for ensuring the damage does not reoccur

It was my first time as Counselor... and it was, how do I put it.... interesting. ;)

Believe me, the color blue does not fit me too well.

 

Also - good job to Sjonus! I hope to see you around the Academy some more, and I hope that whichever Advanced ship you decide to join is a good'un.  :o

Back in my day...  those who specifically asked to graduate did not.  lol

 

The GMs asked for a show of hands and that was it.  If ya said "I have been here forever", they would tell ya that ya should know better than to ask.  But then again...  times change.  ;)

 

As soon as the GMs feel he has what it takes to be sucessful in an advanced sim.  That includes knowledge of the game, interaction level, attitude, basically...  EVERYTHING.  

 

One of the reasons are games have the level of quality they do is because STSF does not just let everyone and their uncle immediately join an Advanced SIM.  We work with the people in the Academy first one on one until we feel they have what it takes to be successful.

 

If commandergerb444 has any questions, he's welcome to contact a GM after the SIM and ask about ways he can improve, etc.  He can ask for an evaluation of his performance, etc.  Most GMs would be happy to get that to him.  (They may ask to give them a couple of days to review their notes and the log, but generally they do it.)

 

Basically there is no set graduation time frame.  It's more instead...  have you learned to play sucessfully in the Advanced sims.

That was a good mission.

We survived until the end, apperantly A9 forgot the time and forgot to give the EVERYONE DIES IN A BIG EXPLOSION action statement before the Academy ended!

Personally i prefered the USS Vortex or USS Dead Cadets ;)   :o
