What's your Myers-Briggs type?

50 posts in this topic

Well here are the roles I fall into most often. Interesting that my Vulcan Chief Engineer persona would match my counterparts so closely.

eStJ: Supervisor

You share a basic personality configuration with William Riker and B'Elanna Torres.

People like you are generally quick decision makers, organized and efficient. Your personality is charismatic, friendly and energetic, but you take life seriously and can be a little opinionated on your own turf. You're extremely outspoken when you feel you're in the right. You have great trouble dealing with people who are dishonest and/or disorderly.

You're highly productive, realistic and sensible. Somewhat of a traditionalist, you're distrustful of new and untested ideas, and you're more than a little blunt telling others how you feel about them, or about whatever other faults you see. When you give a compliment, however, you mean it.

Your primary goal in life is doing the right thing, and being in charge. Your reward is to be appreciated by others and have your opinion respected. You also enjoy having others willingly follow your orders.

Good careers for your type include being a command officer, pharmacist, teacher, and personnel manager.

iStJ: Inspector

You share a basic personality configuration with Spock and Miles O'Brien.

People like you are generally logical, honest and upfront. You get impatient with phonies and people who are disorganized, though you keep your reactions to yourself, as you're usually cautious and quiet, though not timid. Others find you reliable and will count on your being there in times of need. You make a loyal and responsible friend, though only when others remember that you're conservative in nature.

You're literal, realistic, and practical. You're a hard worker who does very well in highly detailed situations, as you're careful and precise.

You are also somewhat resistant to change and comfortable with routine. When change occurs, you'll be the last one to fit it into your routine, but you'll become an expert in time. You work much better to adapt to change when you see practical benefits.

Your primary goal in life is to be of service and do your job well. Your best rewards are to be listened to and to be acknowledged for your hard work.

Good careers for your type are operations officer, chief information officer, database administrator, police detective, and science officer.

You share a basic personality configuration with Beverly Crusher and Chakotay.

< Ack...two of my least favorites. Then again, I'd think Polaski might fall in here too, and I like her. Well, at least it's better than Harry Kim>

You're highly protective of your privacy.

<yes>

You're very literal and maintain a high awareness of the physical world. <especially when I'm skydiving!!>

You are uncompromising about your personal standards and easily offended, especially when you do not feel appreciated or when people violate your personal space.

<Yea...just stay back you.....you know the rule about the 3' of personal space!!>

You share a basic personality configuration with Q and Quark. <Don't know about Quark...I do like Q though. :( >

People like you are generally creative with a global perspective, full of energy and ready to take charge. You're friendly, but strong-willed and driven to show your skills and expertise to others. You enjoy praise, but only when it's honest. You're more interested in a direct and fair appraisal of your work. You admire others for their competence, consistency, and honesty. You are sometimes a little too outspoken in your opinions of others, but you return consideration for kindness. <All very true strangely enough>

You're very organized, quick, and productive. You're a confident stategic thinker and work best when you're full of purpose. <True, but my system of organization make it seems as if I'm not organized, but really I am very organized! :D>

You can't stand wasting time with people who won't get to the point, but you respond instantly to creative thinking and logical explanations. <LOL, Something else that is very true...>

Good careers for your type include being a chief executive officer, network integration specialist, all-being master of time/space/dimention <I knew I should have listened to my high school counselor!>, management consultant politician, real estate developer, marketing executive, and judge.

<Very interesting stuff...>

iNTj: Mastermind

You share a basic personality configuration with Jean-Luc Picard and Seven of Nine.

People like you are generally autonomous, aloof, and intellectual. You sometimes give the impression you have no need of others, but you're intensely curious and driven to learn. You're cautious with others socially and respond best to people who don't push you to be friendly or affectionate. You appreciate when others follow your lead and accept your criticism in the helpful spirit in which it is intended. You're calm by nature and feel off-balance when confronted by highly emotional people.

You're highly organized and expect the same of others. You analyze automatically and enjoy seeing patterns and trends. When your mind is made up, that's it, which means that while you're definitive and strong, you can be stubborn and arrogant.

You respond best to other people's needs when they tell you about them clearly. You value honesty greatly. You prize people who listen to you and respect your ideals. You are somewhat contemptuous of those who don't pay attention to what you say.

You're a conservative dresser, but you have a unique and personal style.

Your primary goal in life is achieving independence and being able to live according to your own standards. Your reward is continual expansion of your competence and knowledge.

Good careers for your type include being a starship captain, intellectual property attorney, news analyst, design engineer, software developer, inventor, Webmaster, architect, and ex-Borg.

<True, but my system of organization make it seems as if I'm not organized, but really I am very organized! :(>

You should see my desk at work. I have 3 or 4 stacks of paperwork at any given time, but I can tell not only which document is in what pile but approximately where in the pile it is.

ROFL! Great link! (It actually amazes me how accurate the profiles are for me. Check out careers, lol)

iNTp: Architect

You share a basic personality configuration with Worf.

People like you are generally quiet until you have something important to say. You are extremely independent and fiercely private. You're logical and unemotional, but also quite innovative and creative. Your smile or snarl can hide your wily ingenuity. You're a global thinker, curious about politics. You are driven to succeed and to prove to yourself your high level of competence.

You're also a nonconformist and quite unpredictable. When you want to adapt to the needs of others, however, it's easy. You prefer to be casual.

respond best to people who honor your privacy and independence, who appreciate your ideas and have no trouble leaving you alone. You can't stand a demand for some big emotional talk when you haven't figured out exactly how you feel and what to do about it.

You don't like clutter, but you're not always tidy. You hate it when other people see your messes or comment on them. And you don't like to be nagged, ever.

Your primary goal in life is maintaining your privacy and gaining the opportunity to solve complex problems in unique ways. Your reward is being granted the time and freedom to pursue adventures on your own.

Good careers for your type include being the Ambassador to Qo'noS, venture capitalist, legal mediator, musician, investigator, and strategic planner.

NT: Rational

In the general population, Rationals make up 5 to 7% of the population. Rationals desire to be wizards. Full of knowledge and power and hungry for success. They perform best at the realm of connections, both concrete and abstract, and they like the sciences. They enjoy learning.

The result of the Trekker test show about 23% Rationals, that's even more than Artisans and about five times the number among in the general population.

You share a basic personality configuration with Spock and Miles O'Brien. I like O'Brien, not bad. People like you are generally logical, honest and upfront. You get impatient with phonies and people who are disorganized, though you keep your reactions to yourself, as you're usually cautious and quiet, though not timid. Definitely. Others find you reliable and will count on your being there in times of need. You make a loyal and responsible friend, though only when others remember that you're conservative in nature. This is true.

You're literal, realistic, and practical. You're a hard worker who does very well in highly detailed situations, as you're careful and precise. That's me!

You are also somewhat resistant to change and comfortable with routine. When change occurs, you'll be the last one to fit it into your routine, but you'll become an expert in time. You work much better to adapt to change when you see practical benefits. Definitely.

Your primary goal in life is to be of service and do your job well. Your best rewards are to be listened to and to be acknowledged for your hard work. I can agree with that.

Good careers for your type are operations officer, chief information officer, database administrator, police detective, and science officer. And we question why I'm such a great Ops officer?

eNFp: Champion

You share a basic personality configuration with James Kirk and Julian Bashir. (So which one's womanizing talents do I get, huh?)

People like you are generally great problem-solvers. You're highly innovative, creative and unique. You're optimistic by nature, which may make others believe you're naive, but actually you're full of energy, very clever, and determined not to be stopped. You're outgoing, curious, and extremely playful. Others are sometimes taken aback by your enthusiasm, but it keeps you going after others have dropped. (I plan on out living all of you)

You're deeply caring, sensitive and gentle (Me...what??), which, combined with your need to solve problems, may make you a little too eager to give others advice. You also process information very quickly, which may make others believe you're not listening to them (I get this ALL THE TIME). Before you share your feelings, you have to have time to process them.

You're adaptive and resourceful, but sometimes highly disorganized (That's an understatement). You dream of having the perfect assistant (My god yes, now taking applications). You respond best to people who encourage your unique viewpoints and insights, help you maintain harmony, and want to play and explore with you. You don't respond well when you're overwhelmed with details or when you're in a rigid situation.

Your primary goal in life is freedom to see possibilities, make connections, and be with a variety of people (I normally call this "schmoozing"). Your reward is having spontaneous adventures.

Good careers for your type include being an advertising account executive, starship captain ( Look out Blu!), career counselor, developer of educational software, actor (To be, or Not to be!), graphics designer (I already do this), corporate team trainer, psychologist, inventor, medical pioneer, and child welfare counselor.
