Blu and Vinnie made their way on the Belt Parkway, with miraculous ease. Blu riding along with her head partway out the passenger window. Vinnie, constantly trying to pull her back over towards him. She was fascinated by how smooth this vehicle handled, nothing like the fiasco in San Francisco the night before with the Captain driving. The feel of the wind through her fur was exhilarating. A starship may be much faster, but the feel of the velocity was never felt like this (unless of course, something was wrong, and then you were to busy trying to fix it, not enjoying it). She watched intrigued by the many advertising billboards they were flying past, when one caught her eye. In the distance, she saw a sign with a picture of, well; she wasn't quite sure what it was a picture of. It looked a little someone had morphed a holo of a human and a Caitian together, well, not quite Caitian.....but close enough. It even had an uncanny resemblance to her friend Merrret, back at the Caitian Science Academy. She had thought that this time period of Terran culture hadn't encountered extraterrestrials, yet there was this, but what was that the sign said, as they drew nearer, she was able to make out the print.... "Live on Broadway, for a record breaking 5,000 shows...CATS!!!" The rest of the information could not be made out, as the sign was worn and weathered. But at least now, she had an understanding of why the others insisted that she come along, and why they were confident that she wouldn't be questioned. She must be thought to be one of the actors from the show. “Nice cover, Marak!” she whispered to herself. “I definitely owe him dinner for thinking this one up.”

Vinnie reached over, placing a hand on her thigh and winking at her, "Well, we 'bout ta Coney, babe. You ready to have a good time?" Errrika smiled back at him, "Well, that's what I'm supposed to do when I actually get a night off, have fun. At least that's what my friends tell me.” Pausing a moment, she looked forward. “What are these for?" as she reached a paw up towards the pair of fuzzy dice hanging off the mirror.

"Those, little lady, are da lucky dice," Vinnie replied. "Lucky dice?" said Errika with a questioning look on her face, "Do I take it that you consider yourself a gambler then?" "You might say that," Vinnie said with a smile and a wink.

Pulling off on a side street they found a place to park, with Vinnie becoming a bit more amorous than Blu was comfortable with. She was still having trouble dealing with having to leave Thom a second time, and really wasn't ready for this type of social interaction. And speaking of interaction, this guy gave a whole new meaning to the term paws! Vinnie leaned over to kiss her cheek, "So how do you get this all off? I don't see no zippers or nothin'. And this fur-stuff tickles." "Oh, it takes quite awhile to get off, it is a whole body deal, you know. Besides, my old boyfriend liked me just the way I was..fur and all" replied Blu, leaving out of course, that he was also Caitian. "If it's a problem, or you’re embarrassed to be seen with me like this, we can go back and re-join my friends at the bar." "No, No!! If you're ok with it, I'm ok with it, besides, it's a little kinky, ya know what I mean?" he replied with another wink, and not wanting to have his evening end so abruptly.

Errrika quickly, but smoothly wiggled free of his embrace, and started to open the door of the vehicle. "So, are you going to show me around, before the sun comes up?" "Why sure, let’s go," he said as he got out of his side of the car. They closed the vehicle, and headed towards the lights down the street. Hearing a loud rumble above her, Blu looked up, and saw a long vehicle rolling to a stop above her at a platform that read Stillwell Ave. Vinnie seeing her look up, "Glad we had the car tonight, I hate riding the ‘L’ out here." "It doesn't look too safe, does it? Blu replied, noting the rust, graffiti, and some shady types hanging around the platform. "Gee, there's an understatement," chuckled Vinnie.

The effects of the drink that Tara had given her where quickly wearing off, and Errrika Blurox began to wonder what she had been thinking, to let herself go off alone with this Terran. Well, if need be, she had her communicator and a type I phaser in her belt pouch. They wandered around Astroland, riding both the Cyclone, which Vinnie seemed to like a lot since they had to sit so close, and the Wonder Wheel. The ride on the Cyclone reminded her of the wide ride through the park the night before with Fish, Marak, t'Kai and Erinna. This made her start to worry about her crewmates, and she decided that it was probably best to return to check on them soon. Upon mentioning this to him, he frowned a little. "Surely, they are old enough to take care of themselves? Come on. What do you say to a short walk on the beach first? We won't be gone too long", as he reached over and took her paw. "A short walk, but that is all, it is late, and I'm really beat, I really should be getting to bed soon", said Errika.

"My thought exactly", smiled Vinnie.

They headed down to the beach, and began walking along the surf. Vinnie spoke of how much he used to love to run up to Fire Island, but didn't get to go much any more. After a few moments more, Blu's keen ears picked up some sounds behind them. Taking care not to look back, she leaned her head on Vinnie's arm, quietly whispering to him, "Vinnie, don't go looking behind you, but is there some reason that there is a small group of men following us?" Vinnie immediately turned and looked, groaning as he recognized them. "Oh, why now?" Vinnie muttered under his breath.

Turning, and waving to them, "Hey, guys, I just came down here looking for you." One of the men stepped forward, "Youse a bit late, Vincenzo. That's going to cost ya more. Alright, let's have it" as he held out his hand. Vinnie dug deep into his pocket, pulling out a wad of bills and handing it over. "It's all there, plus some" said Vinnie, visibly beginning to sweat. "I don't think you understand, Vinnie...youse was late, we can't go having everyone being late. We'll just have to teach youse that. Rico, Tony...youse know what to do..." as he motioned two of the others over towards Vinnie. "Oh, and Vinnie, we'll be taking your date with us too." "Joey, you sure about that, she's a bit of a dog, man," replied Tony. "Yea Vinnie, where'd you find this one, the pound?", snickered Rico. " I, I, I met her in school", stammered Vinnie. "Yea, obedience school,” chortled Tony.

"No, No!! Wait, I seen this one before," said Joey, "My old lady wanted to see one of them Broadway shows, and we took her for her birthday, to see that Cat one...is that where you're from?" as he turned to Errrika. "Yes...you guessed it" replied Errrika, who during the whole exchange between Vinnie and the men, had reached into her belt pouch, and was now palming her phaser. Joey turned back to his gang, "Just imagine, guys like us out with an uptown broad. Who'd have imagined." They all broke out laughing, and Joey signaled Rico. Rico turned and punched Vinnie in the stomach, doubling him over. Blu had just about had enough of this. While they all had their backs to her, watching Rico, she activated her phaser using a wide-field stun setting.

They all fell to the sand. "Stars, how I hate people like you, ganging up on others", speaking to no one in particular, and remembering how her own childhood had been overshadowed by Torrar and his gang of thugs. She checked on Vinnie, assuring herself that he was ok. Turning, she went to each of the gang members, removing their weapons, and melting them to nothingness with a high phaser setting. She then removed their vests, their colors...and proceeded to shred them, except for one. This she put on, as the air was a bit chill. Taking a few moments, she exposed her claws and began digging in the sand, making a small pit. She then buried them up to their necks in the sand. Let them worry about how to get out. Picking up Vinnie, she put him over her shoulder, and headed back to the car. Once there, she placed him inside, remembering to activate the door locking mechanism so that he would remain safe while he slept. Before closing the door, she reached over, taking the fuzzy dice down, placing them on his lap. "You'll never know just how lucky you were tonight. Good-night Vinnie," as she bent down and kissed his cheek. Tapping her COM badge, '"Republic, one to beam up,” as she shimmered out just as the morning light began to break over the horizon.
