Enjoyin College Life

Well, here I am sitting at my laptop at college writing this topic. It has been quite interesting for the last two weeks. Doing fun things, homework, and staying up til midnight because my roommate has to talk to her friends on her computer. Now my arm is hurting I don't know why. Just sprayed some stuff that makes your room and stuff smell good. No it's not fabriz, it's the generic stuff. Well that's it for now. So until next time, later.

Fabriz . . . fabreeze . . . and here I thought it was "Febreeze" (and even I'm not sure if that's spelt correctly). :P

Three more years until I must worry about the harmful side effects of college. Hopefully the aliens will come before that happens. :D

Ahhh, college life. I go to mine in less than a month and will be able to savour the sweet taste of something that every person aspires to be obtain, something magical, that will effect me so profoundly that I will never be the same again. Its name, is knowledge...

...nah, I'm just kidding ya, its just good quality beer! which Hong kong pubs have very little of. Well unless you like selling your firstborn for a drink.

Darn right, man! It's all about the beer! We need some kind of distraction from the rigours of college life. ::is so thankful for the bar in his school:: Makes things go by so much more easier. :D

Don't join any frat or sorority, Melina! After college you won't be able to spell big words...but you'll be able to chug a beer in 10 seconds!

Well, I joined a Fraternity in college (not called a Frat, there's a tasteless statement about why you wouldn't call your Fraternity a Frat) and there was more to it than chugging beers. In fact, I survived three years in the active chapter without ever chugging, or even drinking a whole beer. Of course, others around me WERE drinking heavily, but that's not why I joined.

Oh man, you mean Atragon and I actually agree on something? ::shudders::

There is more to fraternity and sorrority life than chugging beers. There are a lot of Greek Letter Organizations out there and not all of them are purely social. There are some that are based on academic major, GPA, religion, ethnicity, community service, etc., and they do a lot of good work in addition to the parties. In fact my fraternity, which was for business/economics majors, not only has scholarships and professional contests but also an educational foundation.

Yeah, those toga parties and butt beating hazings were just part of a larger educational goal. :D

Now, now, don't get all your information about fraternities from "Animal House." Although when my fraternity brothers and I watched it, there were some ... fascintating similarities (remembers John Belushi's line when they were all expelled "seven years of college down the drain!")

I'm going to agree with you here...

A good friend of mind is in a fraternity at George Washington University. She (yes she) is part of a franternity with a Computer Science focus. Basically this means that she'll be able to get a job from another CS GWer upon graduation. Furthermore, it's alcohol free.

I didn't join any - I just went to their parties for the free punch.

I haven't joined any clubs at my college and I'm starting my second year. In fact, there is only like 10 or less other students that I actually talk to. I actually have no real desire to join anything either.

My day is my classes, 2 hours of work-study, then getting the heck out of there and communting home .
