Sheesh, you would need a college degree just to understand what you can and can't do.

Canada is insain. Lucky for Kansas, we don't have a graduated system. You just go in take 3 tests which are: Vision, Written, and Driving. How hard is that.

I don't think it's insane.. I like the Graduated System. The more experience you have behind the wheel, the less likely you're gonna get into an accident.

Yes, the vertical licenses are fairly new. Heck, 15 years ago they were just laminated printed pieces of paper. Compare a license now to 20 yrs ago, you'll be amazed at the difference.

I like them...it helps venders immediately and readily tell whether you are under 21 or not..because if they sell you booze by accident (either by a lazy employee or just a mistake) THEY are the ones who pay huge fines...not the brat kid who wanted to get silly on the moonshine.

Anything that helps business-owners comply with the law is 100% OK in my opinion. Really, you have to slap the guy on the back for this idea...its so simple and so effective.

But all-in-all people are still stupid even if they are experienced or not they sometimes dont think or get caught up with things around them that are in the car trust me been driving 3 years and I still miss a stop sign/light or almost run into someone cause of something thats on my mind or things/people in my car or how the person is driving (note: i dont do those things on a daily basis but i can say ive done either/or about 4-5 times):P

But i like the idea of two road tests instead of one maybe one for rual driving and the other for highway or something like that cause a written test a vision test and driving test just dont do it from some people just learning to drive and encourages parents to pound down the laws and make em somewhat careful of their surroundings

ok enough of me bickering sorry :D

What kind of car do you drive? I want to be sure to avoid you! :P

Americans really are distracted drivers. We speed around with a cellphone pinched between our head and shoulder, a Starbucks Latte in one hand and an electric razor in the other, blasting the radio and driving with one knee firmingly planted against the steering wheel.

And then we want an autobahn...it's suicide... :D

Silly Canadians  :D

We take a large piece of grey cardboard and put it up to a person's face, and see if that picture looks like the one on the license. :)

LOL - I'm reminded of the surfer movie Endless Summer. This one guy had his passport photo taken with his tongue stuck out touching his nose. Whenever he went through customs they made him do that again.
