I think I can safely say that all the memebers of this forums are Trek fans, in one form or another. That being said, if Trek is your favorite, what comes in second, or if Trek isn't on top for you, what is?

I personally like SG-1 over Trek...well, come to think of it, I like a lot of series over Trek now. I was a Hardcore Trekker fromt the end of TNG (WHen I started remembering the shows I've watched...watched all my life...) to the end of Voy. Although I am a fan of ENT, I enjoy Stargate many times more. It's the only series I've ever been willing to fork out the money to get the series on DVD.

Webby, if any one thinks of any major series Im forgeting (which I probably am) feel free to stick it in.

Other then that, shout out! I havent made a topic in ages, dont disapoint me

P.S. Long live the Sam/Daniel Rebellion!

I have to go with Star Wars on this one, and by Star Wars, I mean the original three series, (A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi). The three had the cool special Effects, good storylines, a heck of a lotta action.. ahh, I can go on and on.. but I won't.

I'd have to say Stargate. I've been watching it since September, when Space got to air it, and have only seen up to the end of Season Five, but it is an excellent show. I'm watching Atlantis regularly. Favourite Episode: "Window of Opportunity". Great humour in that one!

I also love Farscape as well, although I watch it less regularly. Favourite episode: "Crichton Kicks". I'm obsessed with Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.

I love Trek, but honestly I think that Stargate has better individual episodes than Trek does. Stargate also has an irresistable central concept--the Stargate. You are out there, but instead of on a ship you're on other planets, travelling through wormholes. I love wormholes.

And Farscape, while odd, has great amounts of humour and fun. I'm never disappointed when I watch a Farscape episode.

Man I want to go back to the good old Star Wars days where we had models instead of CGI. The force was a power instead of some dumb mutation. Where characters got killed a lot more instead of just captured or escaping. Where huge bloated complicated storylines involving clones and all that fudge were non-existant and instead we had simplicity which just works better.

So I dunno if I'm a Star Wars "fan" any more

Darn Kroells, this is a tough one. I'm a fan of all those serie's, plus a few more like Lexx, Slider's, and older sierie's like Space 1999, Kolchak the Nighstalker, and Project UFO (Kind of a 1970's version of the X Files. I'd have to say though I'm a Battlestar Galactica fan from way back. (I even still own Cubit's) Didn't care for Battlestar Galactica 1980 though. The Sci Fi Channel's new BG miniserie's this year was very good, and the new weekly series starts in January.

Zaphod,

Ha! This one is so easy, Babylon 5 all the way! Now that has a to be one of the greatest sci-fi series every to be made. I literally use to watch that show religiously, and I also still remember the Fox affliate that would show the new episodes every week, before B5 got shifted over to TNT and then Sci-fi.

Speaking of shifting...has Sci-fi even been playing the episodes! Cause that would sure hit the spot right now...

Anyways. B5's stories were simply amazing. I mean the entire show was almost like a huge episode arc, the continuity of the show was just great. With B5 you could tune into almost any episode and be able to find out what was going on. Like I said it was brilliant. Not to mention that the character development that went on with all the characters was just amazing, when you watched the show as much as I did, you learned to actually care for these people, which made the ending all the more sadder.

Not to mention that the Shadow war was one of the most fascinating wars I ever saw, and all the wars that followed afterwards (The Earth Alliance Civil War, The Centauri War, etc. etc.) were just as neat. And how could you not love Kosh(#1)! That Vorlon was just too cool. Not to mention you just loved to hate Walter Koenigs character of Bester, ooohhh he was so bad. I could think of a few colorful adjectives to explain Bester, but I wont.

So yea for those of you that may not have ever seen an episode of B5, I would strongly recommend that you do, it really is a great show once you get into it :) .

Thank you J. Michael Straczynski for creating an amazing show.

*cough cough* Sorry... I just feel the same way and... well.. the newer once are about as enjoyable to watch as the newer ST series...

Which means... I watch, but I do not have to enjoy...

Babylon 5 is the greatest. Beats all the Treks hands down. Well, TNG is kind of close. And there could very well be a feature film in the works, so I'm pumped for the return.

The first two seasons of Farscape were great, but it took a turn south from there. Too bad Sci Fi axed it.

And the original Star Wars trilogy.

Actually, they are coming out with a Farscape spinoff, which contains Farscape in it's title. ::rolls eyes at himself:: Anyway, it'll be on Sci-Fi in a month or two.

Are you talking about the Peace Keeper wars? From what I last heard of that, it was just a miniseries, brought up do to fans crying and moaning.

SG-1 Woot!

Although I like many of the series listed, Bablyon 5's coolness cannot be denied. Had the best XO of all time in any SciFi show (Ivanova), bested DS9 in the art of story arcing; unlike Most of Trek, was not afraid to put contempary religion into some of its episodes. Admititngly, it took a while to get used to B5's effects..but once I was used to them...the space battles in those shows were some of the best on television.

The kid in me will always like SW. But Babylon 5 was just awesome Sci-Fi.

It was a close call, but I would have to pick Battlestar Galactica (except for that stupid Galactica 1980 crap). The reason is if there was a marathon of the other shows I would probably not schedule time to watch them. I would turn them on if I happened to be home, but if it was Battlestar Galactica I would have to call in sick to work.

Hey there,

Actually I have to say many of the ones listed above would come in second. Star Wars would actually be third or fourth for me. One you don't have listed above which would make my list is Space: Above And Beyond.

Yeah, that was a good one too. But it's really hard to find.

Since I'm lazy, and most of the reasons were used, I have to say the ones I'm most commited to are SW and SG (excpecially because they put Peirre Bernard on. the best move for the show that they ever did)

Oh, and Hitchhiker, if you can call that SF.

I know this is off topic, but whenver I here SF, I think of San Fransisco, and Ant's joke.

"Do you recognize my accent? Yah, San Fransico. It didn't take Scooby Doo to solve this mystery."

Occasionally, the Sci Fi Channel will air Battlestar Galactica mini marithon's from 8am to 4pm est. They had one on earlier this week.
