new academy sims!

I have soooooooo much fun on these sims, they're sooooooo good. And the people who help make it all work deserve our big support! however i have noticed a few posts, a couple posted by me  ::D: that are asking for more academy and advanced sims, now don't get me wrong i love the idea, but alot of the posts seem to be a bit vague or showing only the opinion of one person (including me :shy: ) so what i've thought of is putting up this poll to see what day of the week, if any, a new academy sim would be wanted, maybe this would give the GM's an idea about which day it could be put on when there are enough people to start a new one. thank you very much, i hope this helps!

Thank you, Boost/Images, you beat me to the punch.  Yes, we would like to get more Academies, when we have the GM support to do so.  The first idea is to get some on new nights (Thu-Sat don't have any), but if we have GMs with available time on Sun-Wed, we won't turn them away.  Thanks

I know all our GM's have jobs, but is there a way we could get a sim in the afternoon like 5 or so. Just an idea.

If we can find a couple GMs with that time open in the afternoon...  It's something we can expiriment.  The only problem there has been is that time in the past that we've delt with...  is it's just not popular enough.  When you end up with 4 people in the room (with 2 GMs) after 20 minutes past scheduled start, it does not work well.  LOL.

 

But if there is enough interest and support for it...  ANYTHING is possible.  :D

I'm sure that the GM's will discuss when a new sim should be opened before they open it, and if they are unsure of what time to start it at, they will find a way to gather opinions, and maybe start a poll. However, I'd leave it up to the GM's to do so, and not put any pressure on them.

LOL - I remember those days in the Academy.  Lots of runabout and shuttle missions!

 

Then again there was one shuttle mission in particular where we started out with 1 GM and 3 Cadets on a shuttle.  There were some latecomers and by the end of the mission we had 13 simmers cramed into one small shuttlepod - and we didn't even have a ghost problem then!  :laugh:

Just my two cents on this topic - I agree that it would be good to have at least one academy sim in the time between the Wednesday one and the Sunday one. Maybe friday since it is right in the middle. Of course, this is only once enough new GM support could be worked in. You guys do a great job with everthing that is outhere already, the last thing I (or I think most anyone) would want is for this to become something that is more like a second job than a fun recreational activity.

I think saturdays would be best because through out the week alot of people are busy home work and stuff like that, i'm just saying one on saturday would be nice since there are some of us who can't make it during the week.

Weekend sims are notoriously difficult to staff. From what I've seen, at least.

 

Usually Sat or Fri night, people like to go out to dinner, to a movie, visit with friends, etc.

 

Maybe thats just me :rolleyes: but I'd never be able to make a Fri/Sat sim regularly.

 

Weekdays are perfect for academy sims because people dont have time to go out, they're tired from work, and have the free relaxing time to sit around at the computer and chat for a while at night before heading off to bed.

 

Sundays are the best, because just about everyone takes Sunday off, and most places are closed on Sundays. But they have to get up the next morning for work so it's unlikely they'll be going out at night.

You realise we are totally blowing our image among non-simmers. You know, people who are in their 30s, live in their parent's basement, can't get dates (assuming they even try to get them), etc.

I too am going to echo Vex in saying that a Friday academy is unlikely. Friday uis the day before the weekend, and people usually hit the bars. But there already are academies on the weekends. (Sat 12AM, Sun 11PM, Sun 12AM) academies. I personally we have enough academies, but you never know. <_<

Edit: One more thing: Stop ressurecting these old topics! It's really irrelevant and quite annoying.

I love the idea of a Fri sim. Usually on Fridays nights, I'm jonesin wanting to sim. I've become an STSF junkie. :ph34r: The afternoon sims on the weekdays are really great. I've only been to a couple, but Tovan and Vosh are doing a wonderful job. Quick shout out to all of the GM's. You making simming fun. ;)

Yeah, a Friday acad would be nice, but that porlly won't be happening everytime soon, since usually everybody's out on Fridays. (Yeah, Gm's have lives too ya know :ph34r:)
