Trek Spoofs

Okay this topic has probably been done years and years ago but I'm doing it again! What's your favourite Trek spoof or trek appearance in other movies or programs?

My Choice: "The Wrath of Farrakhan" from 'in living color' with Jim Carrey as Captain Kirk who is ousted by the Minister Louis Farrakhan for oppressing his intergalactic crew. :D

I've heard that Stone Trek is pretty good, but I'm going to have to say the three ST skits on SNL, and the ST:TOS on Telemundo from MADTV.

Let my poor nephew R.I.P.

It's bad enough he got killed on the Hood. All because of that red shirt.

I'll get even with Huff yet!

While that is a really good one....I think I'll have to go with Galaxy Quest.

Not just a short, but a full length movie spoof. My favorite part, is when he pilots the ship out of spacedock, and it starts to veer, and screeches up agaist the hull and the dock!!

Blu

Yeah, GalaxyQuest is a good one. My dad forced me to watch it after he and I went to a convention and I started debating with Majel Barett on some technical issue. :D I loved how after every fight Sigorney Weaver had another rip in her uniform even though she wasn't part of the fighting!

Of course I think the best two spoofs of Star Trek are The Motion Picture and Enterprise. :)

The first SNL spoof, I think it was in 1977 with John Belushi as Kirk and Dan Akroyd as Spock has to be my all time favorate. When the NBC executive walks up to Spock and take his ears. "Jim, my ears, sob." Another good one is an old Dr. Demento tune called Star Trekin' "We come in peace, shoot to kill."

Zaphod,

"Boldly going foward cause we can't find reverse."

This was actually from a band called The Firm. (Don't get confused. There was another group by this name that had one or two hits. This is not the The Firm we are talking about.) However, Dr. Dimento often played it on his show.

there is also an audio spoof (not a song, just like listneing to a show) by a NYC novelty group called Cab City Combo. The spoof is called "Sulu's Day" and is on their "Pork Side of the Moon" CD. There isn't an MP3 available, but you can read the script at:

Hey there,

Well, I know of two "spoofs" that make me really laugh....though I think most of them are very funny.

I would have to say Galaxy Quest. As much of a spoof, that movie was almost a tribute to Star Trek and it's fans. I know that sounds a bit corney, but it's true. It would be somewhat funny to see some type of followup to that film.

Beavis and Butthead on the original Enterprise (who i usually detest but found myself pleasently amused this time by)

Butthead: :to a female crewmember:: You, I order you to show me your thingies

Beavis: But Captain, wouldn't that violate the prime directive...or something?

Butthead: Number One, I order you to take a number two.

Beavis: Aye aye captain!

I bought the movie on VHS, and have almost worn it out. And I still laugh at that part every single time! My wife looks at me funny, wondering why I still laugh at it after seeing it about 3 dozen times. Glad to know someone else gets it, Blu! (Or is as nutty as I am!)

Ooooh, ooooh!! If you get it on DVD, one of the language choices for the disc is Thurmian. So, uhh, I had to check it out (but really couldn't make through more than 2-3 minutes of it) and it's great! They got different actors to really "dub" the movie, line for line, it's not just someone sqealling and ululating nonstop. Just amazing.
