ST User Name Error

Ok, I was registering for a new user name for the ST Chat Rooms today. I filled out the form, had a new e-mail address set up for it, everything was fine.

 

Then, I clicked "Submit" on the form, and nothing happened. It showed that it was loading the web page, but nothing ever changed. After waiting a few minutes, I hit "Submit" again. Then, after another few minutes, I reloaded the page, and tried again. Nothing.

 

However, I thought that maybe it went through, and that the web page just hadn't come up ... so I went to log on. I was able to log on. However, then, whenever I clicked "Holodeck" or "Ready Room" or "Lounge", the window would come up and I'd get this error that says my User Name / Password was not accepted. Yet, on the Chat Room Selection page, it shows I was logged in.

 

I never recieved an e-mail from ST.com saying I had registered the new name. Yet, when I clicked "Send Password" it did that.

 

So, I signed offline, the signed online. Tried to log in, and now, when I click "Logon" after entering my User Name & Password, it shows that the next page is loading ( I know this because the Windows flag in the upper right hand corner waves at me, a sign that the next web page is attempting to load ) but the page never loads. I left it for quite a few minutes, and nothing happened.

 

I'm open to suggestions, ideas, and anything that could possiably help me with this. I REALLY want to use teh user name I signed up with, so I would REALLY prefer not to be told just to re-sign up.

 

Also, I tried logging in on another user name, and it worked fine. Sooooo, it has something to do with the new user name.

 

Ahh, one more thing. I tried going into my account to change my e-mail ( figuring this had something to do with it ) and I cannot change the e-mail. I keep getting the message "We're sorry, this user name has already been used" even though I'm not touching ther user name! Very weird.

Ok, I'm able to log on now, but I'm still having the problem with the popping up chat room and the error message. I've copied and pasted the error message for you to see. So the chat rooms are still not working for me on my new user name. However, I have removed 2 items from the error message, I don't want to give away any information I shouldn't.

INCORRECT LOGIN INFORMATION!!!

 

( e-mail address ) and ( long # that could have something to do with password or something ) The member name and/or password combination you entered was not recognized.

Please try again.

Alas, I have talked with someone else who has had the exact same problem as me. So I'm now sure that it isn't just my computer and my internet.

Well, I wish to report that STSF.net Regristration process has done it to me a second time to a different user name.

If this is happening with the ST.com username/passwords...  there is nothing I can do to control that.  :D  I don't have access to Paramount's servers and I cannot make any changes to their system.

 

All we can do is pass along the comments made here by our members.  So I'll pass this along too.  Hopefully they'll be able to look into it more for you.  If the username you're having problems with is here on the message boards, or actually on the stsf.net domain itself...  please let me know.  THOSE are the ones I control and have direct access over.

I know you can't do anything about it, and I understand why.

 

I posted it here because I wanted everyone to know the problem, and *hopefully* someone would be able to tell me how to fix it with no hassle or problems.

alas the same thing has happened to me...thanks for the info garnoopy hopfully mogg will be able to make an apearnce on teh aegis on friday
