PERSONAL HISTORY:

 

Vectra Meriva is the eldest of two children of Tobias and Lilliana Meriva. Thusly, he is heir to his father's title of Duke of Birminghamshire, his company, Norstar Mining Corporation, as well as One of the Five Rings of Betazed and another element, from his mother.

 

As a youth, Vectra divided his time living in his family's estates in Janaran Falls, Betazed and in Birmingham, England on Earth. There, Vectra was educated in the finest private schools and scored remarkably well throughout his academic life. Unlike most boys his age, Vectra spent alot of time learning nobility customs of his native Betazed and England.

 

In addition to his studies, Vectra was schooled in the finer arts, ball room dancing, graceful posture, speech, and later on, wine tasting, amongst other things. He spent a great portion of his youth travelling throughout Earth and Betazed

attending formal galas and ceremonies.

 

Vectra is proficient in the Betazoid and British customs he will be excepted to perform once his parents pass on. Throughout his life, people found Vectra to be a kind, wise and charming person and is highly respected by his peers. His Betazoid sensory and consideration helped Vecra earn the respect of his friends who turns to him for counselling or tips.

 

As a result, he is quite popular both in Earth and on Betazed. Academically, Vectra acquired a great interest in technology and particularly Engineering thanks to his godfather, Admiral Kyle Peterson (now retired), who at the time was the Deputy Commander of the Starfleet Engineering Corps. He scored well in Engineering related courses in school, and at around age 12, committed himself to enter Starfleet Academy in the Engineering Programme.

 

Though wishing Vectra would enter Starfleet as a Counsellor or an Ambassador like his mother, Vectra's parents were both still supportive of his decision all the same. Once Vectra turned 18, he was accepted into the Engineering programme in Starfleet Academy in San Francisco. With the help of tutours his parents hired for him, Vectra went on to graduate from Academy four years later sixth in class with a GPA of 3.9.

 

One month after his graduation, Vectra was assigned to the USS Relentless as an Assistant Engineer. He proved himself to be a hard worker and a valued part of the ship, and served there happily for six months. On Christmas day of 2380, the Excelsior class Relentless was finally decommisioned after 66 years of faithful service.

 

He would not be assigned to another starship for almost three months until he was finally assigned to the USS Arcadia as an Engineer. For the next few months, Vectra worked quietly and relatively unknown in the Beta Shift, under the shadow of the more "famous" Alpha Shift Engineers, until August of 2381.

 

With the loss of Vectra's friend, Lieutenant Hans Seiben, who died on an away mission at Axaia, on 04 August 2381, Seiben's tragic death left a big void in Alpha Shift. Vectra was transferred to Alpha Shift immediately after Hans' death. In addition to being a blow to Engineering, as well as most of Seiben's friends on the ship, Hans' death also left a void in Vectra's heart, since he considered Seiben a friend.

 

Just like on the Relentless, Vectra proved his worth in Alpha Shift later becoming Head of Shuttles and Auxiliary Craft, when Lieutenant Commander Trichon Light was named Chief Engineer, after former Chief Lietenant Commander Thomas Jaruq left the Arcadia in November of 2381. In January of 2382, upon the decision of Capitan Moose, Vectra was re-assigned to serve as the Chief Operations Officer of the USS Arcadia. He is excepted to report for duty there on 19 January 2382.

 

Addendum:

 

For the past ten months, Vectra has quickly adapted to his new role as Chief OPS. He has made significant progress career wise and has made friends with most of the bridge officers. Ever the suave guy that he is, Vectra is actively persuing a relationship with Arcadia Medical Officer Miranda Porter.

 

HOBBIES:

 

Because of his upbringings, Vectra enjoys the finer things in life. He enjoys horseback riding, golf, polo and soccer. He likes to play chess, as well as hyper ball and velocity. Vectra is also an excellent fencer and fenced for Oxford, as well as in Starfleet Academy. Whilst in Oxford, Vectra represented Great Britian in the World Fencing Championships, where his team won First Prize.

 

His First Place trophy is proudly adorned on a mantle in his Quarters on the Arcadia. Vectra also enjoys live theatre; Shakespeare in particular. He has frequent many famous theatres in London, Paris, Sydney, and New York, including the Globe Theatre in Strattford upon Avon. Also dear to his heart is ballroom dancing and dancing in general.

 

Vectra particularly enjoys watching the Bolshoi Ballet shows in Moscow, Russia. Vectra also enjoys to pilot shuttlecrafts, and owns several high-end shuttles back in his home in Coventry, England. Vectra also likes to cook in his spare time, and likes chocolate and wine. His favourite food is French food. In addition to a food and wine conneseur, Vectra also owns the finer variety in civilian clothing.

 

Georgio Armani, Doc Maartan, Ray-Ban and Rolex are among the brands of clothing and acessories he has in his drawers and closets. Additional hobbies include fishing, swimming, and spy thrillers, quite evident by his 007 Holodeck programme, set in the 1960s. Naturally, Vectra also holds friends and family close to his heart, and has already built firm relationships with many of the Arcadia's crew.

Like all Betazoids, Vectra is fully telepathic and empathic. He has learned to utilise his abilities at around five years of age, and is qualified as an instructor for using telapthic and empathic powers wisely. He shares the kind, open hearted characterisitcs of his fellow Betazoids, and always is willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need.

 

Vectra is a certified shuttle/runabout pilot, and is licensed to fly and maintain shuttles randging from a two seat Type XI to Argo, Delta, and Dunabe Class runabouts right up to the luxorious Captain's yachts of the Galaxy and Soverign Class starships. He has also taken a course in various bridge postings in Academy, and scored well in Operations. Vectra should proved to be just as efficient at Operations as he is in Engineering.

 

Vectra is fluent in Federation Standard, French, Russian, Caitian, Vulcan, Romulan, Trill and Betazoid. He is also sklled using bladed weapons and to a lesser extent phasers and rifles. He quickly adapts to any new position and learns very quickly. Placing loyalty and friendship above anything else, Vectra has earned the respect of everyone he meets as well as Starfleet.
