Ensign Eli Zhu

Assistant Engineer

Log Entry

A clunk was heard in main engineering, Eli jerked his head around and saw the source of the noise - 3 engineers hoisting equipment on to an antigrav. He felt relieved and turned back to his work to fix the station which seems to be falling apart from the nuts and bolts and screws. He thought he heard voices and he thought he heard people talking about ghosts. Ensign Rogers and Lt. Wilson were walking around main engineering a few minutes ago, mentioning that the station is haunted.

Eli Shivered, the cold pulse from the environmental controls slid up his spine and touched his brain and stretched out cold claws and felt his nerves being stroked. He jerked again and turned around, no one was behind him, the engineers were done with their antigrav and it was just standing there, waiting its next task. Eli looked to his right, a tool box laid open, another tool box with an engineering laying on the ground, replacing damaged relays to the left.

He abandoned his console for a moment and backed to a bulkhead. The dampness of it sent havoc of fear into his mind. What if a supernatrual being was here? What if it really was a ghost? What if .. it was going to get him ... torture him, play klingon opera ... and slip his essence from mind to matter. He blinked at the thought and attempted to gather himself up, but failed. Another voice in his mind took over control of those thoughts.

Paranoia? The voice asked. Eli nodded to no one. There's no need to worry, there is no such thing as ghosts. The voice continued. But Eli took no comfort in the voice's words.

Are you sure about that? The station is dimmed, its cold, half the doors don't open half the computers playing on-hold music and .. blue screens of death ... Eli thought, remembering his console display an error message he never would have expected to see. A blue screen ... module error at this corridinates and this multiply by that, the numbers were clear but the image was there.

Eli trempled as another cold wave of air raised the goosebumps on his skin as well as the hairs. He was scared out of his wits, he wanted to scream, to call for help, to get out of this Hell Hole but he couldn't, he wouldn't and he shouldn't. Aegis means protector and they were needed to protect Aegis and fix her vital systems, restore order to this computer sabotaged chaos. This gave Eli encouraging thoughts but no matter how hard he tried suppressing it, the bottomline thought of fear was still present, It laid in the shadows.

Eli backed off the bulkhead and took a look around, he didn't see a space station or a home but a nightmare, one that he intends on waking out of. He tapped his wrests and felt the response from them, notting the environment wasn't THAT cold yet. He walked slowly back to the computer console and laid his fingers upon a button. Nothing Happened.

Eli closed his eyes and listened, the computer was running millions of calculations per second but still it is powerless with out energy. He listened. He felt more cold wind as the aft engineering door opened with a hiss of stress. The miniture wind whispered in his ear, he listened. There was no words but only meaning, fear. Fear the wind, fear the station, fear the surroundings. Eli heard the meaning and turned around and yelled.

"Who's there?" He quivered. A young woman looked at Eli with accusing gaze.

"Something wrong ensign?" She inquired. Eli looked away and shook his head, in shame.

"I'm sorry ... I thought i heard something. But ... it was just the wind." The young Lt. nodded her condolences for his stress.

"Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this." Eli nodded.

"I hope so, this station is turning more more into a nightmare and less and less like my home."

"Follow your instincts, fellow those gut feelings, trust your self, fear is nothing if you face it with light and courage." Eli turned around at this amazing speech but it was too late, the Lt was gone.

Courage I have little, Light i have none, main power is fluctuating and i suspect sabotage, wow i'd make a good investigator. He mused, feeling better.

A minute later Eli found himself again in the same environment 3 minutes ago, the front door opened with a hiss and cold air rushed through his senses. It jolted himawake. Back to reality ... where fear lives in the shadows around you.
